Wolfman joins the board
Some of you Cat fans who frequent egriz.com know who I am. For the rest of you, I am a big Griz supporter, who is labled a "bad Griz fan" over at egriz.com, because I make posts which are made objectively, and without the sugar-coating which 90% of the people posting on that board put on everything. I have been critical of coach Hauck, and that is the kiss of death with many of the sheep who graze there.
I have recently been kicked off that board, along with a couple of other posters who tried to stimulate objective, critical posts about Grizzly athletics.
One of the things which really upset the many sheep who post on esugar.com (my name for that board), is the fact that I was often complimentary to the Bobcats. As you know, the kiss of death for any sugar-coating Griz fan is to EVER say anything complimentary about the Bobcats.
That board has regressed into a sickening mass of selective censorship, gestapo tactics, locked threads, polls which slander posters, and is controlled by a few paying members who the board owner sucks up to when they whine loud enough.
I believe that several of the Cat fans provided interesting and valid levity to a board which has lost touch with reality. I realize that you too, have had to endure the stupidity which ruminates from some of those posters.
I am hoping that the Cat fans who continue to post on esugar.com, will consider posting on the Unofficial Griz Message Board, at www.grizzlyboards.com. You will be treated with respect there, and can openly engage in objective discussion without the simple syrup, selective censorship, or constant dain brammage which you endure on the other board.
The posters who really know football post there. You won't see any board-sponsored parties, pay any fees to post, or be able to access a word-association thread. However, if you are interested in great discussions about athletics, this may be the board for you.
I will not be posting on your board frequently, but wanted to extend an open invitation to the CatNation to explore the UGMB .

You're right though; the only reason you were booted from egriz was for complimenting the Cats.

Welcome to the board, Wolfman. I'm looking forward to hearing your insights about the various topics discussed.
One word of warning, however. Please don't use this board as a forum to bash on egriz, or to put down the people who run that board. I think I speak for the other moderators here when I say that we can sympathize with the the guys who run that board in terms of trying to maintain a civil place for people to hang out and exchange ideas. It's not an easy job, and from what I have read over there, you weren't making things any easier on them. Granted, there are some bad apples on the other side of the philosophical divide as well, so I don't want to get into that debate, but it goes without saying that your reputation precedes you.
So exchange any and all ideas you have and add to the diversity that makes these boards interesting. But walk softly in terms of ripping on our contemporaries who run other boards.

Grizlaw, you know better than to accuse me of threatening others. You have obviously bought into Chris's clever cut-and-pasted exerpts, hook-line-and-sinker.
I was removed from the board because some of the "paying members" threatened to take their ball and go home, if I was not removed. There were also two other posters removed by Chris at the same time. Did they threaten too?
Let's get the other board going. It is a much more open forum, where diversity of opinion os encouraged and accepted. All Bobcat fans are welcome there.

Wolfman, welcome to Bobcatnation. First off I moved your post as it did not belong on the Bobcat Athletics board. Also, thank you for mentioning the UGMB, as I am sure many Cat fans were unaware that it was even there. Lastly, while you are free to post here about the Bobcats, the Grizzlies or whatever, please do not use this board as a place to slander or vent about another board. While I don't post much at egriz, I do read it occasionally and am fully aware of the issues you and the moderators there had with each other, but that is not something that belongs on this board so please stay off that topic. A simple invite to the UGMB would have sufficed without all the other stuff.
With the exception of a few, I feel that we have a pretty good-natured relationship between the Cat fans here and the Griz fans that post here. I and the other moderators want it to stay that way(and will work to ensure it).
Edit to note that apparently BAC and I are in agreement, but I type too damn slow!

Egriz is pretty slow moving without you. I still check out the board there but I have signed into www.grizzlyboards.com and find it to be objective.
I was at my fantasy football draft the other night and talked Griz ball after the draft. Its funny how almost everyone I talk to other than the Egriz crowd agrees that Hauck is taking us the wrong way or have reservations such as leaving the cupboards bare at times and are worried. I started a thread here about the Hauck vs. Kramer thing on Bobcat Nation and found that no Bobcats ever wanted Hauck but some Griz fans did wish for Kramer. Interesting Huh?

UGMB has been around a lot longer than esugar (I luv that!) hasn't it?
I seem to recall, though, (might have been after the Griz home loss to Hofstra?), that Grizzly Athletics came down hard on the board administrator, because nasty things were being said after that game. Didn't the board get shut down for a few weeks?
Anyway - I've always liked UGMB for reasonable opinions.

Look Wolf, I don't want to fight; I've never personally had a problem with you. My point is only that you have made comments (publicly) to other posters in the past that I and others interpreted as threatening. Maybe you did not intend them that way, but that was how they were received, and I think those issues had a lot more to do with your troubles over there than your criticism of the team or the fact that you *gasp* have given some praise to the Cats.
I don't want to rehash these things here, and I'm fairly certain no one else wants me to either, so I'll bow out of this conversation.

Yes, please bow out, because you know NOT of what you speak, oh barrister.
I do not intend to use this board as a forum to bash esugar.com. However, my initial post as a new poster was intended to introduce myself to the board, and to make a ONE-TIME statement about how unfairly posters are treated on that board, when they choose to post anything critical of the Griz coaches, or anything else, for that matter.
I have been openly critical of the hiring of Bobby Hauck since he was named head coach. He was unqualified to get the job, and has predictably demonstrated being unqualified over and over again. The continued nepotism shown by the athletic department at UM makes me furious. It is totally inbred with brothers, uncles, former GAA director named AD, financial donators, etc.
Yes, I am a big Griz fan. However, that doesn't mean that I have to become brain-dead about everything that goes on there, as so many of the sugar-coaters who populate esugar are.
My future posts will be to add discussion and insight to your board. I have outgrown the childishness of "hating the Bobcats" because i'm a UM alum/fan. I want the Bobcats to win every game except that one in November!
This board should be fun.
Finally, with regards to the comment in this thread that the poster "knew what had gone on at esugar.com" regarding me. I would ask you to consider the fact that many of the the things being said about me were untrue. And, I could not defend myself because I had been removed as a poster.
It's refreshing to look and not see locked threads on this message board. That's Chris's big thing now....if he gets complaints from the paying members about a poster, he simply locks the thread.
Now, enough about esugar.com. Let the season begin, and let's have some fun! I hope the Cats kick OSU's orange-*sses!

I deleted a couple posts from this thread. Grizlaw, I apologize as I know you are a solid poster here, but I will not have this board used to further pissing matches from other boards.
Wolfman, both BAC and I were serious in welcoming you to the board and were also serious about you leaving the egriz bashing and egriz poster bashing out of it. I, and I would assume BAC, left this thread and the initial post were left because we understood it to be a introduction to yourself as you said. However, your last post in which you felt the need to explain yourself by going deeper into the egriz stuff was unnecessary.

kmax, I apologize for continuing this thing. However, I feel that Grizlaw's post was giving mis-information to the board, which required a response from me.
This is exactly what happened at esugar.com to cause problems. That is, posters would slam me, or post inaccurate things about me, without provocation by me, and then I got blamed when I responded.
I know that I am a bit sensitive about this, but I got screwed on the other board by a moderator who allowd open shots against me, but nailed me if I responded.
I promise you that I am on here to talk football. If you keep the insurgents from esugar.com from talking pot shots at me by removing their posts, as you have already done, this will help a whole lot.

Wolf, it will also help alot (not to mention back up your statement that you are here to talk football only) if you refrain from taking potshots as well, namely the continued "insurgents from egriz" thing.
Trust me, just drop this whole line of discussion and we will be all good.

Wolf,
Welcome aboard; take all the shots at me you want, I can take it!
But forget about the "good folks" at egriz and lets stick to talking football.
Speaking of which, I haven't seen any predictions from you on the MSU/OSU or UM/Ft. Lewis College games. Your "takes" on those games, if you don't mind?

you might want to ask the griz fans about eating the paint since it seems to be clear that that's what they've been doing......peedintunnel wrote:e-griz is no fun anymore now that you are gone![]()
your were the only fan who tried to bring up the other side of things. you were never one to sugarcoat! reading a one sided board is about as fun as eating paint. or is it watching it dry?
