Rivalry games

Excluding Cat-griz-who do you like?

Probably my favorite is Auburn-Alabama. I always pull for Auburn and they got a big win this year. Probably the most passionate, heated rivalry in the nation.

I always look in on the Apple Cup. This year's game in Seattle was a good one. Even though both teams weren't very good the game was real good with Washington State getting a win a the end. I think they said it was only the Coug's second win at UDub in 20 years?!

Watched Texas vs. Texas A&M today. Good game. A&M was a decided underdog, but they played out of their minds for 3/4's of the game and made it interesting. Texas stuggled but they are so talented. It seemed to me like the players had a lot of respect for eachother. Lots of patting of the opponent on the helmet and helping one another up.

USC-UCLA-one of my favorites-on tomorrow.

Oklahoma-Oklahoma State: On tomorrow. I'll be watching since we played OSU. Might be a good game. Both teams have struggled this year. I imagine the Sooners are pretty heavy favorites.

Montana Tech-Carroll. The Frontier's top teams go at it for a 3rd time tomorrow. It's on TV and I'll watch some of it. Got a couple of Belgrade kids on Tech to root for. Carroll probably wins easily as Tech's quarterback is hurt again.

How about a rivalry that needs to be resurected: North Dakota vs. North Dakota State. The state of North Dakota has some of the nicest people in the world. I'm sure most of us could see that when we interacted with NDSU fans on this message board and at the Bobcat-Bison game in Bozeman in September. But put these two fan groups together and there's a vile hatred that's tough to fathom. I think they hate each other way more than the Cats and griz. It's not just the fans, but the school's administrations sabotage one another-it's nasty. But can you imagine MSU and um not playing eachother? It could happen I suppose if the griz decide to go 1-A, but I would think both schools would try to work something out to continue the rivalry. Not in North Dakota where they bareley acknowledge that the other school exists. I hope things eventually cool down and these two schools can meet again on the football field (hopefully as a Big Sky conference game!).

My favorite is Michigan-Notre Dame. I am a huge Michigan fan so that makes it an easy choice. Also being from Anaconda & having to listen all day everyday about how great Notre Dame is a person grows to hate the Irish. This rivalry seems to be pretty underrated. A lot of people don't even know that the Michigan football team actually taught Notre Dame students how to play the game. So you ND fans need to bow to the mighty Maize & Blue.

Having grown up in Wyoming, especially in Southern Wyoming, the rivalry game for me is Border Wars, CSU vs. UW. It is almost always a great game.
