Hawkins to CU

This will make the Cats first game of the year very interesting. Hawkins has a philosophy of scoring as often as possible and taking risks whenever possible (he's not a fan of punting at any point on the field).

If the Cats fall behind early, I expect that CU will try to ring up as many points as they can on us. On the other hand, as Boise State did against PSU this season, they could end up taking a lot of risks that backfire and give us a better chance to steal a road victory.

Either way, I am certain we will see a very wide open game plan from CU in the opener next fall.

Hawkins is a great coach and a good pickup for Colorado. He should also help to put a lot of the problems they've had there in the past. The first game will be tough for CU and it may take a while before Hawkins' system sets in. No question about it though, it will be a tough road opener for the Cats.

GO CATS!

It could be interesting in Boulder next season. According to ESPN analyist Jim Donnen, CU was very senior laden this year, they've had a couple of very down years recruiting, and there's been a lot of bad press about them.

Boise State retained their offensive coordinator as head coach-so Hawkins will need to find a new guy to run what looks like to me to be a pretty complicated offense. New offensive coordinator-new quarterback-hmmmm?

CU is a big time 1-A program, and they could light us up like a Christmas tree-but who knows...maybe MSU will end up being Hawkins' Humboldt State???
