ESPN has reported that Dennis Erickson has told Ole Miss. that he intends to stay with the 49'ers. The only problem is there are rumors that the 49'ers don't want him back. Dennis Erickson in the College game is Good for the Bobcats, in my opinion. If I had my wish Erickson would take over a major D-1 college team located here in the west. He has always been good to MSU, exept when he was at Idaho.

Wasn't it Erickson who told Kramer that a certain 3rd string OSU quarterback would win the Big Sky MVP 2 years in a row....?

If that's "being good to MSU", thanks but no thanks.

He was a dramatic upgrade from what we had and put us on the path towards success, so I'll just say "Thanks!" for that one. Junior Adams didn't hurt much, either.

My understanding is that Erickson also gave the coaching staff tips and recomendations to some highschool players that he thought would be a good fit for MSU

As long as Dennis raking in big bucks, I'm sure he'll throw a few crumbs, at least, to MSU.

Now if we could just get him a Super Bowl win or two so he can start making really big bucks. Hey, I wouldn't have a problem watching the Cats in Erickson Stadium.

That's not a bad deal for Erickson -- he gets paid $7.5m for not working, and now he doesn't have to put up with the worst owner in pro sports. The locals (the ones who care about the 49ers, which doesn't really include me) have been cursing York for years, and it's at a fever pitch right now. He refuses to sell the team, though.

Hey Dennis! With all of that extra cash, and a certain top-flight college offer coming in the near future, how about another nice donation to the MSU football stadium fund? By the way, have you been working out? You're looking younger, and thinner, and happier, and whatever other gratuitous compliment can be thrown your way.

Strange how it goes; he refused to fire any of his assistants. Pretty proud of his conduct and loyalty lately.

Question: Erickson walks into the AD's office in Bozo and want to coach the cats. Do you fire Kramer in a minute? ( I know this isn't going to happen, lets just say Erickson wants to settle down and be a Pappa Bear like Read)

In 82, Erickson was not even a finalist to take over for Sonny; Graber spent one year before moving to Rutgers. Don't think any of the parties involved during that time frame would ever consider it again. Sometimes unanswered prayers turn out for the best. Cliff finally got his chance to come back and he's not what he once was. Erickson has plenty of time to make up his mind and find something in line with his philosophy--and still help his alma mater in the process.

That's a tough one. Kramer is for sure there for the 05 season, and if we win it all, I'll tell you then...

Okay, so Dartmouth just hired Buddy Teevens, a former qb at that school freshly fired by Stanford. Fully realizing MSU grads are a step above either one of these schools, one can't help but speculate that Erickson will do the prudent thing and step back and observe how well Teevens does at his alma mater. He certainly won't be pushed into the no win situation Hysell faced should Kramer win it all and move back to Idaho to restore their program...but I would think Kramer will do much better than Idaho if the kids perform to expectations this year.

I would make him OC.
