Since it is the off-season and the boards are a little slow. I just wanted to pose a question to Bobcat fans. If you could put together the IDEAL confernence for the Bobcats who would be in it?
This is a league I would like to see, although I know it will never happen.
Idaho/Boise State
Montana/Montana State
Utah State/Wyoming
BYU/Utah
Nevada/UNLV

C'mon Jag, couldn't you add USU get to ten teams and give BSU a travel parter?

As much as USU wishes to be in the same league with UU and BYU, this, I think would be a bit more realistic:
MSU/um
Weber/USU
Idaho/EWU
PSU/Western Washington
UCD/CSUS
what the heck:
Wyoming/Hawaii
Nevada/UNLV
Maybe a few non-football schools, too, just for fun:
Denver, Gonzaga, Northridge, UVSC, Hawaii-Hilo, Chaminade, Alaska-Anchorage, maybe even MSU-Billings

You mean so Hauck could just refer to all of his opponents as "State"

I always thought this would also be a good looking league.
1. Eastern Washington
2. Idaho
3. Boise State
4. Idaho State
5. Montana
6. Montana State
7. Utah State
8. Weber State
9. & 10 two of Sac State, UC-Davis, and/or Nevada
Tight geographically, and everyone has a local rival/travel partner.

I think that's about what it used to look like before Nevada, Boise St. and Idaho moved. (Minus Utah State).

USC
Miami
Florida
Florida State
Oklahoma
LSU
Auburn
Montana
MSU
Imagine the attendance records we would set and the big pay day for every away game. Had to include Montana to maintain the rivalry.

USC (for the fight song and beaches)
Miami (for the scenery on the beach)
Penn State (Happy Valley, say no more)
Notre Dame (so we can beat somebody)
Idaho (for old time's sake)
friz (cause we don't like them)
Washington (easy road trip and nice place to visit)
Hawaii (nice place to visit)
Humboldt State (nice place to visit).
Michigan (for the pay day).
MSU (Bobcats not one of the other 50 MSUs)
Harvard (the MSU of the east)
Yale (Stanford of the East)
Duke ('cause we have more "Coach K's")
Divisons:
Academic and Scenery Division
MSU
Hawaii
Humboldt
Idaho
Harvard
Penn State
Washington
Arrogance Division
um
USC
Notre Dame
Michigan
Miami
Duke
Yale

Realistically,
Eastern Division:
NDSU
UND
SDSU
Northern CO
ISU
MSU
Western Division:
Duhh UMMM
PSU
Southern Utah and/or EWU
NAU
SAC
UCD
Dream:
MSU
All the Dakotas
UNC
BYU
WYO
Utah State
ISU
Idaho
UCD
Duhh UMMM
The dream, however, goes back to post WWII alliances with a couple of additions. Duhh UMMM would probably have to return to the PAC with Idaho if this were to start...

OK...My ideal conference would be 9 teams for football and 12 for basketball. I like 9 teams for a football conference, as it allows each team to play every other team every year, with 4 home and 4 away games for everyone. Here it is. The two divisions would only apply for BB/VB, not FB. Travel partners listed next to one another.
Big Sky West
Portland St.
Portland
EWU
Gonzaga
Boise St.
Idaho
Big Sky East
Montana St.
Montana
Idaho St.
Utah St.
Weber St.
Utah Valley St.

Back to being a little less fantasist (word?), here's what I'd really like to see:
Eastern Washington/Western Washington
Idaho/Idaho State
Weber State/Utah State
The Montana State University/um
Cal Poly/UC Davis
I have nothing against NAU, other than the travel thing. If we ever accepted Southern Utah, they might be a good travel partner.
I don't have a problem with PSU either, but it's hard to find them an ideal travel partner/rival. Portland and Gonzaga area already in the perfect conference for them, a west coast catholic conference. If the Pilots had football, then they'd be ideal.

Funny!
At least the Griz would win one game each year!
It would be fun to see some of those Fl teams in Montana in late November though! Kinda like watching the Vikings play "out doors"!
