It looks like McGillis is looking strongly at signing with U. of Washington.

I dont understand this at all.
He is being recruited by U-Dub and hardly getting a look from his hometown schools. Romar has something for the MT kid. He recruited Seyfert when he was at St. Louis.

I don't think seyfert is a good example. He really hasn't materialized into much of a div.1 player. mcgillis to washinton is interesting.

UW would be better than UM. I wouldn't want to face player with a grudge against MSU.

Just saying Romar likes his MT kids - he recruited Seyfert (the fact that the kid hasnt amounted to much on the court doesnt matter), and now he's recruiting McGillis.

What is amazing to me is that this topic (which I also posted on the egriz board) is getting far more traffic here than in Griz land McGillis's home city!

Would he be getting a scholarship at UW, or would he just be walking on? Either way, if neither Montana school is going to pony up a scholarship for him, he would be putting himself into an incredible situation at UW. Good for him.

Still only a 1-sport university!

Heh, heh!
Still only a 1-sport university!
Football - Big Sky Champions
Men's Basketball - Big Sky Champions
Women's Basketball - Big Sky Champions

I know the Cats were the left-handed goat tying champs, but that is only because the GRIZ don't have a team.

Some in the home city will wait until Wednesday (1st signing day)to see what the traffic signs indicate.

In related news, Nate Robinson Washington point guard turned pro. Also rumor has it that any Montana players going to Wa. will be walkons. No varification. Maybe Wednesday the 13th of April.

After watching UW up close in Boise, there's no way Jack ever plays there.
Does not have the perimeter skills to play outside (offense or defense) or the size and strength to play inside.
Prediction: Walk on at UW, sit the bench for a couple years then transfer out, probably to the Frontier Conference.

FYI the Lady Griz home attendance ranked 25th in the country this year at 3786 per game vs the Cats at 1732. Griz basketball attendance averaged 3472 vs the Cats at 3532.

UW style definitely fits Jack - all O, no D. Not to say he doesnt have a ways to go to play Pac-10 level, but....He has a solid 3-pt shot, and at 6-6 has the height to play Point Forward/Shooting Guard, the size will be developed once he hits a college weight program. He has the potential to make it there, IMO. UM/MSU are missing the boat on this kid, again IMO.

...and I went out and caught a bunch of brookies yesterday

They were HUGE for beaver dams

What the hell difference does attendance make? We had about 3500 tickets bought to watch a scrimmage in Great Falls Saturday, kids were free and didn't count. It appears ya'll have an obsession with podunk attendance numbers that rival some of the better high school attendance figures in this country

Go back to your own damn board or hit the smack board.

I thought you ended up being co-champions in Football?
I also thought that Portland State won the Big Sky Conference?
Yes, I'm nitpicking here - just like I got nit-picked to death every time I said the Bobcats were the Big Sky Champions, without putting a "co" in front of it!

Maybe is is more of a rumor than truth.....makes no sense to me.....I don't think he can play at that level.
