Not Cat related but a very inspiring sports story.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not trying to detract from his accomplishments. You're right...it is a great story of never, ever giving up.
However, I question this part of the article:
"In his first game, against Utah, he had 11 catches for 171 yards. After only a couple of games, agents were calling him. He wound up leading the nation in receiving that season with 100 catches while still playing without a scholarship (he was awarded one after the season ended)."
I added the bold.
I thought that agents were not allowed to contact active players? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong....or USU has an NCAA problem here.

You are right. Agents can contact the players, but no contract or money can exchange hands. Some coaches don't like agents contacting their players during the season because of the distractions that may occur, but otherwise there really isn't anything stopping players and agents from communicating.NavyBlue wrote:I don't think it is a problem if agents call him, I don't see how a school can be held accountable for that. I think the rule is the player cannot sign with an agent and still play. Some one who know for sure jump in and set me straight.

Anyway, this was a good story. Kevin Curtis should give hope to anyone who wants to be an athlete and gets cut. There is a chance.
Thanks, that is why I posted this on both the Cat and Griz boards. Maybe there is a kid out there that dreams of playing for MSU or UM and maybe was told "no thanks", to keep trying and keep beleiving in him or her self and maybe this would inspire them.
