Griz scared of the road?

Are the Griz scared of playing on the road or what? 7 home games on the schedule already. If they get the 12 game passed for next year they say it will likely be another d-II school, so that would make 8 of 12 games at home, because the almighty Griz will not be seen playing at a below Griz stature school. My guess is that the rest of the schools do not have nice enough or fair enough field conditions for the Griz to play on.

Maybe they are but what a nice problem to have. Last year when they hosted three playoff games they had NINE home games. I travel from Minneapolis for each game so I cherish each game. If we had seven, eight or even nine home games that would make for an incredible season. Six is just not enough when you wait all year for football season!

I think it "might" have something to do with netting $$$,$$$ per home game. The Cats would do well to have 7 or 8 at home also.

You can hardly blame the Griz for not wanting to leave Missoula. They have a great winning percent at home, and they make a lot of money playing there. Imagine if the Cats would have played 7 or 8 games at home this year. We would have likely made the playoffs. Of course the Griz fans will have a little harder time saying that they are WAC caliber if they never play any WAC opponents and never leave home for non-conference games.

It's not too late for you to get a quality business education so you can figure out this money thing; U of M probably could squeeze you in.

What a bunch of chicken hsits the griz are!! I wonder what the NCAA thinks about the jizz scheduling 3/4th of their games at home? Apparently not too much if that is going to be the schedule. How does that shake out when the playoffs roll around? What a bunch of CRAP!!

IMHO, the Griz AD is not only looking at the dollars from the non-conference home games themselves but also at protecting playoff benefits as well. Look, UM doesn't have to schedule I-A games for revenue and they don't have to play decent I-AA teams on the road because their prestige allows them to dictate terms. Why risk 2 non-conference losses if the playoff committee doesn't seem to put much stock in schedule strength?

Bobcat fans shouldn't be too proud to admit we most likely would do the same thing if we could. Griz fans shouldn't be too proud to admit their scheduling practices aren't all about the budget defecit, but also are about minimizing risk to their playoff streak / hosting potential.

I do believe the buyouts of Hofstra, Cal Poly, etc. are building some bad will towards UM and might lead to some interesting negotiations going forward.

Who said we want to be WAC caliber. I will take life in the Big Sky over the WAC anyday.

Admit it, the cats would love to be able to have our schedule and all that goes with it!

And the cats are scared of Cal Poly, "Why do we keep scheduling Cal Poly". Give it a rest. Everybody who has a brain knows the main purpose for scheduling the home games it so get rid of a debt. And you will get very few complaints out of Griz fans, we like home games too.
If the cats could get away with it, and had half a brain they would do the same thing.
BTW, we didn't have 7 home games this year, unless you count the playoff game.
It is obvious some cat fans get it, and some don't. But if the cats were to have 7 home games consistantly I bet those fans who don't get it now, would come around. Just like you came around on the bandwagon issue, once your bandwagon started to fill up.

Jah, quit embarrassing Griz fans. The main reason we schedule so many home games is the erase the deficit? Yeah right! Hauck has a 7-8 record on the road. Does that give you a clue why they schedule so many home games? If we played a competive road schedule lie the Cats and EWU, we would have never seen the playoffs.

You can sugar coat it any way you wish, but te fact is that we bought our way out of road games with Maine and Cal Poly, both of which were probable looses. The Griz can not hide behind this "budget deficit" excuse forever. We'll see at that time how many tough road games they schedule.

I don't want to hear all of this chest pounding about how great a record Hauck has, when he gets to play 70% of his games at home, and less than a .500 winning percentage on the road. Hauck's record should have an asterisk next to it.

You don't see the elite Div. IA teams ducking tough road games, even though a single loss can take a Div. IA team from the BCS consideration. i'm ashamed. as a Griz fan, at the fact that we are afraid to schedule tough non-conference games on the road. Hogan had balls, and sceheduled Main and Sam Houston on the road. Then Hauck came, and started buying the Griz out of these games. You saw what happened at Sam Houston last year, then, we get them in Missoula and predictably smack them around. There are plenty of IAA teams who could duplicate Montana's record if they got to play all of their tough games at home.

Did you hear me chest pounding wolf, don't put words into my mouth, put some more marbles in your head.

Once the debt is erases I bet they don't go out of their way quite as much to get 7 homes. However, now that they have seen how it works, and that renigging on home and homes isn't a death deal, they may continue to try and get 7 homes as much as possible. Do you blame them? I dont', unless they keep up this trend of DII's. Then I will be pissed, especially if the number of games stays the same.

Other than last year, the Griz schedule under Hauck has not been an easy one. Even last year wasnt' easy, but there is no excuse having Ft. Lewis on the schedule. Maine (home and home), Hofstra (home), SHSU(home and home), Cal Poly, UNC(was supposed to be good, but sucked that year).

BTW, wolf, ask around and you will find that YOU are the one embarrasing Griz fans, with your B.S., flat out lies, and your acting like you actually know something. Everyone sees thru you B.S.

NOTRE DAME did this for years. It is one thing that UM learned from them.

And part of the reason I like to call the griz the "chrome domers"

Compare away. Chuck's got the domer's playing quite well. Normally I don't like Notre Dame, but I love Wies. I might have to be a fan just because of him.

I see no downside to our schedule.

From my perspective, home games would be great, but road games can help build character. If you make it to the NC game after some road wins, you might play better than in the confines of home. I think JMU won on the road in last years playoffs, so the NC was a piece of cake...turf and all..

That is a very valid point weeksmokingcat. Home games are great. More money, easier to get to, home field advantage, etc. But when you can win on the road, and are used to doing it, then you can be a great team, and be prepaired for anything.

And, Hauck has proven that he can't win on the road. Jah, shut your pie hole, you worthless piece of possum scat. If you're the personification of a "good Griiz fan", them i'll find a new to team to root for. You are a total embarrassment with your incessant whining and empty comments. Get a clue about the game of football and stop embarrasing yourself, and the Grizzly nation.

Go down with the ship like a good Hauck supporter, meathead. He can't coach, and you can't post. You two have alot in common.
