U of Minnesota center Greg Eslinger won both the Outland Trophy (best lineman in the country, offense and defense) and the Rimington Award as best center. Two interesting comments:

1. He was only offered a partial (I think)(at the last minute) at UM. No one else wanted him out of HS (Bismark ND).
2. He is listed as 6'3" and 285# but if you stood next to him you realize that he is at most 265 dripping wet and not 6'3". SO I guess you don't have to be a 300 plus pounder to be a top lineman. It will be interesting to see how high he gets drafted and how he does as a pro. With his motor and work ethic someone is going to get one hell of a player and maybe in the third or fourth round.

Eslinger is a great example of why we need to recruit the Dakotas and Minnesota again. Imagine if we would have found this kid and offered him a bigger scholarship. He might have been playing for the Cats! A missed opportunity… :(

I was really hoping that he was going to follow his brother's footsteps and come to MSU. Too bad, he is a great football player and a very good kid- just like his older brother.
