Reed Harris - Boston College
I was curious to see how he's doing so I looked up their record and stats. Doesn't look like he shows up in the participation report so unless I'm missing something, he hasn't played any snaps yet. When I saw their score with Northern IL (Lost by 3) Holy Cross (31-28 BC win), I thought... Cats would probably beat this team. Then I saw BC lost to #4 Florida State by only 4, so who knows. Point being, I wonder if that is the "big time" college football he was hoping for. I wish he was suited up for the Cats right about now, I'm guessing he would have seen the field already as a receiver.

I have some distant relatives who's son played for GFH with Harris and lets just put it this way... the Cats are ok that he's somewhere else.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 9:53 amI was curious to see how he's doing so I looked up their record and stats. As for playing time, no one expects a true freshman to start at any P5 program.

Seriously, he's what 4 games into a true freshman campaign and you are thinking he be second guessing his choice?rivercat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 10:40 amUnnecessary to disparage a kid.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 10:15 amI have some distant relatives who's son played for GFH with Harris and lets just put it this way... the Cats are ok that he's somewhere else.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 9:53 amI was curious to see how he's doing so I looked up their record and stats. No, and my post wasn't intended to start anything or stir the pot. Couple clarifications here. First off, I live in GF and followed the kid through high school. Super talented, and the only knock on him was that some people thought he took plays off. I don't know about all that because I know he also dealt with some injuries. Regardless, I think he's a good kid and IF that part was true... I'm guessing a coach like VIgen or whomever his coach is now, are definitely going to correct that. Also, NO of course I wasn't expecting him to start for Boston College as a true Freshman, at a new position. I was just surprised that he hasn't appeared in any games, special teams, etc. I'm guessing if they have games that are not close, he might get some snaps in garbage time since they can appear in four games and still redshirt. Last point, no I'm not thinking he's already second guessing his choice, I am more just commenting as a fan that I think he could have also been happy here at MSU, and might have already seen the field. Sure we're not "big time" college football here but I'll take that Gold Rush environment over anywhere in the country. Bobcat Stadium seemed fine for Troy Andersen!rivercat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 10:40 amUnnecessary to disparage a kid.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 10:15 amI have some distant relatives who's son played for GFH with Harris and lets just put it this way... the Cats are ok that he's somewhere else.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 9:53 amI was curious to see how he's doing so I looked up their record and stats. In all reality, I'm just nervously trying to find ways to pass the time until we kick off against Weber.....

Totally get the nervousness. I get cranky until Caturday then it's like Christmas morning. My wife is going to be more than ready to strangle me by the time we're in Ogden.

Yes, even kids can be pills. All he did was relate his experience. 15 catches for 461 yards and 4 TDs according to ESPN, as a redshirt freshman. Sounds like something resembling bigtime college football to me.
