Griz Versus Missouri State

Post by Prodigal Cat » Tue Aug 27, 2024 6:09 pm

Colter on his radio show eluded that the griz had some injuries that were significant. The new 2 deep makes me think its their all-american LB Riley Wilson. Typical Boobs thinking he's got nuclear codes he has to protect.

I didnt realize how many seniors they've got on this team. We'll see how it shakes out, but even their offense last year was carried by one guy on special teams through the playoffs.

No, no, no silly - most Griz fans don't see it that way. He was an anchor, slowing them down, if not for him they would have beaten SDSU, and they're glad he's gone. I think they'll find out pretty early that whatever QB they go with isn't going to come in and instantly become the superstar that they all think he will.

A lot of teams will be very senior heavy this year since both the 2020 and 2021 freshman classes are playing this year as seniors. Also the 2019 freshman class if they used a normal redshirt year in addition to the Covid year.

I was referring to Bergen. He’s a very solid receiver, but very talented in his return game. As far as Clifton goes, I don’t think he really liked playing for the Gris. Why would you transfer from a team that just went to the natty, to a team that won’t sniff the playoffs? But I agree with you as far as the new QB goes. They’re both gonna play and the same guys that constantly told us “if you have 2 quarterbacks, you don’t have one” are about to start defending the 2 qb practice until the wheels fall off.

He initially transferred to FBS Temple, but after spring practice, he entered the portal again and ended up at McNeese. My guess is that he wanted the opportunity to play at the FBS level, even if it wasn't with a top team, rather than just leaving Missoula.

Oh ya, my bad... I should have read it more carefully, obviously you were referring to Bergen. Between him and the plays Clifton made at key times... that's the only reason they made it to Frisco.

I don't see Cole Grossman listed on that 2 deep roster either.

Mostly it was their defense dominating games and those two with enough plays for scores to let them win.

I told the boys on Griz Bergen was hurt. They claimed i was trolling them. Haha.

Grossman gonna be out a while for them. Maybe all year.

Seems like the gris game is getting chippy already.

That was a pretty blatant hold on the Griz TD run, and too bad they missed the XP.

Wondered about Bergen, didn't see him in the box score. That could hurt. And isn't that the second year in a row for Grossman. That can't help. I was thinking they were only a couple of injury's from possibly being in trouble.

From just following the game on gamecast the gris had their hands full. Yep, good old home cookin'..
