Big Sky non-NCAA

Post by nevadacat » Sun Mar 23, 2025 8:36 pm

NAU blows a 14-point lead with under 3:00 to play and lose on a layup at the buzzer to Belmont. In that final 3 minutes, NAU turned the ball over 7 times.

Belmont shot 34 free throws to 4 for NAU. Fouls were 25-12. Not saying NAU doesn't foul a lot, just seemed a little one sided.

In those final 3 minutes, Feldman was getting mauled by Belmont, who somehow never got called for enough fouls to get into the bonus.

NAU had 4 fts made 2... Belmont was 22 of 34. 25 fouls to 12. Lost it at the charity stripe. Have zero idea how the game was called.

The win probability graph on this game is the craziest I have ever seen, NAU was at 99.9% win probability with as little as 2:51 to play.

That Foul and FT disparity is crazy when a team has a lead lime that. They shoot a lot of 3s but you have to be taking chances defensively as a team trailing by 14 and 3 to go. Crazy NAU would not get into bonus.

Checked YouTube and saw where Glancy injured her ankle and was helped off the court. That could have made a difference. Not sure of the time remaining.

Crazy that any of us are still giving any attention to that game but here we are haha. If memory serves Glancy injured her ankle late in the 3rd so they played without her for more than 10 minutes. Also the 2 Moran sisters fouled out late in the 4th.

Their aggressive play must have helped get the lead, then cost them in the end.
