i agree, not sure what could be a better system. all you can do is put them in groups and take the best from those groups. would it be better for the NFL to say, well we think the nfc west stinks this year, so they just don't get to have a team in the playoffs. or for MLB to say that the Phillies and the Rays were the two best teams this year, so they should just play in the world series. and isn't this the whole point of playoffs, miles city may be taking it in the shorts, but atleast they get a chance to prove it on the field.tetoncat wrote:I don't know, from some of the conferences you could have an undefeated team or 1 loss team that really is not that good. How do you decide which team is better just based on a record when they haven't played the same teams. They have to have some way to predetermine and this is the best way so far. Look at Class B, they move the district that gets 3 in around the state and some years it is from a 5 team conference. They get in with losing records.

I'll take that Butte bet and raise it...they'll be lucky to stay within 35 of the Hawks.TomCat88 wrote:AA sked:

The semis would be interesting if Capital plays Bozeman and West plays HHS since they didn't play each other during the season. I agree though that Bozeman and HHS are heavy favorites. Gotta watch out for Butte, they might be recapturing their magic from years past.

Re: high school playoffs
It was relatively close for the first quarter and half of the second. Bozeman figured things out on both sides of the ball at that time and took off to a big win. Personally, I felt Butte's play calling went away from what was working (and Bozeman hadn't stopped it up to that point). If they stick to the gameplan this time, it may be a different margin of victory. But, I see Bozeman still winning.John K wrote:I agree....didn't Bozeman destroy Butte in the regular season?Billings Cat wrote:I'll take that Butte bet and raise it...they'll be lucky to stay within 35 of the Hawks.TomCat88 wrote:AA sked:

Drummond at Fort Benton in 8 man should be a whale of a game.
How many kids from these two schools have played at MSU or um the last 15 years?
I am thinking at least 14.

That's pretty amazing for a couple of schools of that size. And it will be a thing of the past if MSU and/or UM eventually move up to I-A.CPACAT wrote:Drummond at Fort Benton in 8 man should be a whale of a game.

Chinook at Charlo should be a good one too. Amazing that those two small schools have done that. I think if Benton does not start slow like they have a few times this year, they win it. I don't know if they can come from behind on Drummond.CPACAT wrote:Drummond at Fort Benton in 8 man should be a whale of a game.

What goes around...WetWaderMT wrote:I know how the brackets work, but I was just reviewing the A playoff schedule and this thing is ridiculous!
Miles City (8-1) hosts Havre (5-3) today and the winner of that game gets to travel to COLUMBIA FALLS who is (4-4) next week...seriously, does that make ANY sense what-so-ever?!?!
Miles City gets a home game against division winner Dillon.
