(I apologize for starting another thread on this, but the "One down...one to go" title doesn't do Grey justice)
Congrats to Arie Grey and Butte High. I remember Arie well from his playing days at MSU. He was one of just four seniors on the 2000 0-11 team. He gave some very touching, inspiring words (it was almost a speech) about his coaches at the press conference after MSU's Cat-Griz loss, the final game of his career. I thought his words were a catalyst for the next season and I'll never forget them and have them transcribed somewhere. I told myself, I bet we all hear from Arie Grey again someday. And now we have. I recall his first years at Butte High and asking folks what they thought of him, as usual, since they weren't winning a lot I got a lot of negative feedback. I wonder what they think now.
Note: If my math is correct, Grey was probably a freshman when MSU lost in similar fashion to UM in 1997. So at least one person off that team has had a little bit of that sting taken away.

At the same time my heart really goes out to the Hawks, but they have a lot to be proud of.

Not Bobcat Football-related? Geesch! Does this mean all my Travis Lulay/BC Lions threads should go in the Professional Sports board? I'll take the "...and Butte High state AA champs" out of the title.

Sorry Tom, I'm probably a little trigger happy this week on trying to herd the Cats in the right direction and keep the board from turning into chaos. There are a lot of topics that could/should/do fit in several categories and usually I let a lot just land where it may, but this week being Cat/Griz I shoot first and ask later in hopes of keeping the board from turning into a big mess. I hope you can appreciate that if this were any other week I probably wouldn't have even thought of moving it.
And yes, personally I think the BC Lions threads should actually be on the Pro Sports board.
