A, B, C State Title games tonight

Post by TomCat88 » Sat Mar 03, 2012 8:02 am

Class A
Columbia Falls (19-3) vs. Dillon (20-2)

Class B
Malta (22-3) vs. Manhattan (23-2)

Class C
Fairview (24-2) vs. Highwood (25-1)

Phew! tough games to call. One of Fairview's top players is -- get this -- Justin Bieber. He had 17 points last night. Tough to pick against Highwood, but I'll take Fairview. Gotta like Manhattan's chances playing so close to home, so I'll take the Tigers over the Mustangs. Classic matchup in the A game with Col. Falls and Dillon holding seven of the last 14 state A titles. They're meeting in the title for the third time in four years. Dillon is playing well and the game is just up the road in Butte, so like Manhattan, I like their chances. Fairview, Manhattan and Dillon tonight.

Lets see your picks Nation....

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I am thinking Highwood, Malta, & Columbia Falls. I would be you some Cold Smoke but I found out yesterday that they will be pulling out of the Great Falls market.

Good game though. Proud of the Tigers.

I just heard that tonight too. Do you know the reason? It seemed like it was very popular here.

It is popular everywhere they have it. In fact too popular for the amount of beer they are allowed to brew and keep their tasting room open. They are pulling out to be able to provide more product in their home market.

Another example of the screwed up liquor laws in this state.

So close the tap room? I would think in the long haul, it is more profitable to sell the beer wherever you can? Granted, I am a little bitter about the situation as I was very partial to cold smoke. However, it means more road trips to Missoula. I will have to try Bowsers in Great Falls as well. I am kind of partial to Buffalo Sweat out of Manhattan, KS as well.

The tasting room at Bowser is sort of a fun little spot...nice addition to GF. There's supposed to be another new microbrewery/brew pub opening up shortly, in the same building as the Faster Basset Coffee & Crepe Haus, over by the Staybridge Suites hotel. My new favorite though is Salmon Fly from Belgrade. I wish that one was more readily available in GF.

According to wikipedia there is 110 Class C schoools. Of course may have co-oped so I would guess 85 or so teams. Shout out to the Belt Huskies on their 2nd straight championship. Great group of kids that worked their butts off to win it again! \:D/
