AA championship game
When will this be played? The MHSA website has a bracket that shows Nov. 19-20 as the game date. I have been thinking it would be on Saturday at the same time as Cat/Griz like the rest of the divisions. But, someone mentioned yesterday they thought the AA game was played on Friday night.
Does anyone know for sure?

Re: AA championship game
The schools get to work that out and determine what is best depending on how far the away team has to travel. etc. However, it is usually on Friday night and based on the teams left there isn't a huge travel distance so there is no reason it won't be on Friday.

AA usually on Friday night, other classes on Saturday.
After watching the Hawks last Friday, I can say I like the Hawks chances of winning their 1st Championship since 1917.
(at least that's what I thought I heard over there)

I agree, Bozeman is very impressive. Roderick is obviously a stud, but really solid players all around. Their D is very good as well. Tip of the hat to Butte, as they were very over-matched, but made a game of it with a good passing attack. I dont imagine too many other teams putting up 40 on the hawks.

The Bozeman-Capital game has become very interesting with Capital's big win vs. Senior last week. No one saw that coming the way the Bruins played the last half of the season. Add to it that all the pressure is on Bozeman. Capital has nothing to lose and, with five straight trips to the title game, has been in games like this for years.
If the Bruins get off to a good start, it could spell trouble for the Hawks. But Roderick is the king of AA right now. From what I'm told he can ad lib on any play and get six.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I'm just not sure it matters a whole lot. The Hawk offense is oozing with confidence. I think last weekend's game shows that they really don't care how much you put up on their defense (I thought Butte had a great game plan and executed well), they simply go out and score. As an example, Butte tied the game at one point early on and the Butte student section started chanting "we smell upset". Next possession Tanner takes it 60+ yards on a keeper. He did that two straight series and that was the end of the crowd. From that point on, Bozeman was always up by 3 scores.TomCat88 wrote:The Bozeman-Capital game has become very interesting with Capital's big win vs. Senior last week. I am more curious to see what a little cold weather and snow does to the Hawk offense more then another team's defense.

I think Helena High will give them all they want. I think HH has a good defense and will find a way to slow them down enough to win the rematch.

Anything can happen. MSU's offense was oozing with confidence going into thee NAU game and look what happened. One bad day and it could be over. That being said, I think we see a HHS/BHS re-match for the title.barechestcat wrote:I'm just not sure it matters a whole lot. The Hawk offense is oozing with confidence.
