How about some State Champ predictions?
AA- Helena Capital
A- Dillon
B- Malta
C- Wibaux

Totally guessing on B and C, so going with two traditional powers. I guess the AA and A predictions are traditionals as well, but those two should both be really good, led by arguably the best players in each classification, Gunnar Brekke for Capital and Ben Folsom for Dillon.

Capital always has to be in the predictions for AA Champ, but I think Glacier is the one to watch this year.

AA- Favorites CMR. West. Helena, Capital, and Glacier. I think these 5 will be a cut above the other 9. I am partial to CMR this year. They had a lot of underclassmen playing last year.

Manhattan's gotta be up there with that McQueary kid. I hope we're recruiting him.

Just because I watch these teams, and see that they have an on going programs. You have to like Twin Bridges for Class C - 8 Man and Dillon Beavers for Class A. These two are always competitive. Just waiting for football season, really excited for the Cats Thursday night opener. Should be the start of a great and fun season.. \:D/

Games start one week from today. Anyone have any thoughts on how the AA teams will be?

Anybody have thoughts on Butte? They play CMR first game and I think CMR will contend this year.

Bozeman was like CMR last year in that a lot of underclassmen played. Bozeman's red/black scrimmage is this evening. I will have a better feel for the Hawks after that.

Here is my guess.

AA-Billings West
A-Miles City
B-Baker
C-Wibaux

I went to CMR scrimmage. They played ones vs two's and the ones dominated. Refs were quick on the whistles so not a lot of hard hits. Twos were getting tackles called with 2 hand touch. A lot of plays running back was 8 yards down field before he got touched. Tough to get a real good feel from the scrimmage. CMR was a playoff team last year and returns 9 players on offense that played a lot. Best player from Junior class was hurt all last year. Freak bone injury in knee are. Back to 100%. At linebacker CMR will be about 40 pounds bigger on average per linebacker, and stronger and faster.

Question marks are receivers and DB's. Not much experience but decent athletes. Ol line will probably average about 240. One has committed to Cats and another may end up there as well. 2 RB's, 2 DE, 1 LB, and a TE/G will all probably play college ball at one level or another.

I see only the frosh play each other this year in the regular season. Bozeman's scrimmage was much the same, 1's vs 2's. Very interested to see how this group does. Not ready to make any predictions. We play Missoula Sentinel this Friday.

Fairview looks good in Class C. They beat Ennis 44-0 in Absarokee Saturday. Ennis lost to Twin Bridges in the semis last year and was picked by the coaches to finish first in the Western Division of the Southern C.
