Title game venue for AA state

Out of curiosity, has it been thrown out there that the State AA title game be held at MSU if Bozeman gets to host? They host Sentinel this weekend and the championship game scheduled for the night before Cat-Griz might set a record for attendance with that venue. Just a thought. I'd be willing to work(for free) on the cleanup crew after the Friday game.

I thought of this last week, and it would be really cool to have the title game at MSU under the lights. The major problem with this idea is that the Zac Brown Band has a concert in the Fieldhouse that evening. I'd imagine there would be absolutely no parking, unless the game kicked off in the early to late afternoon. I bet the game would still be at Van Winkle Stadium, but it would be neat to attend that at Bobcat Stadium. I know I'd go!

Considering that it will probably be a Bozeman versus Glacier rematch, that would be amazing. Watching Glacier under the lights at Washington Griz was a great experience so having the Wolfpack at the Bobcat stadium would be the experience of a lifetime for most of these young men.

That would be awesome....not sure how it would effect MSU/UM walk thoughs the night before the game, but I'm sure it could be figured out. As a fan, I love it. I'm sure the budget people for MHSA love it. I assume the players would love it. Not sure the BHS coaches would want the additional distraction.....though I don't think they have much to worry about this year.

If I'm an MSU facilities staff person who is going to be logging loooooooong hours that week anyway with cat/griz, a huge concert, women's bball, and cat/griz volleyball, that makes for a crazy 3 or 4 days.

They could do it similar to Wa/Griz earlier this year when Glacier play Missoula. They only opened 1/3 of the stadium for seating and only a few concessions.

They also have a home game and all class volleyball the week before Cat/griz

MTsport.tv offered to air this game and any others for free but was still denied. I've emailed everyone I could find on the MHSA web page and have gotten exactly zero responses.
Wow this is so insightful, you must be a savant. Either that or you believe plagarism is a county in Louisiana. Hawks86 will be so proud of you. [-X

Just talked to a member of the MHSA, let me clear up a few things.

1. The Hawks could play any game they wanted in Bobcat Stadium.

2. The MHSA can't show every game, because it is not fair to the other sports, so they are showing the finals of EVERY sport in on web.

But this is contingent on what?

Probably an agreement with msu. I would bet msu charges big $$ to rent the facility.

I was told at a mtg yesterday that MHSA has a contract with a company for all post season games but that they only plan to live broadcast the title game. Mtsport.TV has been granted the ability to tape tomorrow's BHS/Skyview game and do a tape delay.

They play high school games in Wa-Griz occasionally...right? I don't know why they couldn't figure out how to make this work, if they wanted to. It could be a good recruiting tool to play a few high school games in Bobcat Stadium. As for playing the AA title game the night before Cat-Griz, I don't know whether or not the logistics could be worked out to make that happen. Again though, I'd think it could be done if both MSU and the MHSA were really motivated to do it. I'd think if they promoted this a little bit, they could set a record for attendance for the AA title game, if it was in Bobcat Stadium. With lots of football fans already in town for Cat-Griz, it seems like some of them would be interested in going to that game also. I know that a lot of people will be going to the concert instead though.

Not going to the concert. I'm deaf enough. If somebody can get the game in Bobcat Stadium, I'll be there. Not too many more games in there this year. I would love to take in two in one weekend.

I'm not going to the concert either. I would also probably go to the AA title game, if it was in Bobcat Stadium.

In 1976 CMR beat Bozeman in the title game played at Reno Sales Stadium, now Bobcat Stadium.

I hope that anyone who loves football will show up at Bozeman Highs School this Friday night. These two teams are by far the best two teams in AA football. One is 12-0 (Bozeman) and the other (Glacier) is 11-1 with their only loss coming against Bozeman. The first game ended with a win for Bozeman (25-12). Both teams are fun to watch with loads of talent on both sides of the ball, as well as special teams. Even if I wasn't the father of one of the kids (Ogden), I would love to see this game. I hope to see you there.

If you can't make it to the AA title game in Bozeman tonight, you can watch it here: http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/channels/montana" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

I'll be doing the color commentary.
