Gallatin/Bozeman Radio/NFHS Coverage
I sometimes tune in to NFHS to watch the Raptors/Hawks if I can't make it to the games, and notice that some of the other cities seem to have radio broadcast audio along with the NFHS coverage, while we don't seem to. Anyone know if this is possible or what it would take?

Not about the money. It is just a simulcast with the radio. Easy to setup. I am sure NFHS could walk the radio station through it

Re: Gallatin/Bozeman Radio/NFHS Coverage
Let us clarify the request:
1. As @Cataholic stated, the school can request the radio feed to be added to the stream.
2. Unless there is no one broadcasting the game as of now. Then you might need sponsors (Ford, Rockin R, etc) to sponsor the broadcasts so the radio doesn’t lose money. @Saccat should know about the broadcast part. Apologies if that is the wrong person.
Answer:
1. Ask around and find the person at the school who works with NFHS and PlayOn sports(camera equipment supplier). There will be a single point of contact, usually the AD or an asst principal. They can make the request to PlayOn/NFHS.
2. If no one is broadcasting, get a booster club going. If it exists, join and support them. Use the group to work with the community to get it done.
Talk to folks at the school, coaches, principal, district AD.
Make it so.
Good luck.

Let’s go BN, let’s get this done.

I know a number of schools just add the radio simulcast. Does that need special equipment? Saccat already does the radio broadcast so it should be a piece of cake. I can’t imagine the radio wants more money to simulcast as their advertisers would be ecstatic to get more listeners/viewers.DMMDCats wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 7:23 pmLet us clarify the request:

Re: Gallatin/Bozeman Radio/NFHS Coverage
You are all close, but none are fully correct.
I get asked this at every High School game I do, and the answer is Set-up
I run every game through my computer and a Steinberg board for the headset and volume. That board and my computers software does not sync with the computer that Van Winkle runs NFHS off of. I have talked to NFHS every year trying to find a fix, and there response is "You need to run older software to mix with the set-up on the Computer. I can't even turn off the mic for the announcer at the stadium. We tried just running a line to the computer, and let the sound some out as it will, but you can barely hear me, while the announcer is 10 times louder.
Again, I am all for hooking it up, and have every game, BUT it just doesn't work for our set-up...
NOW, as for the other stations that run them on the site. They are ALL running dial-up phone lines, and there broadcast goes out from the station NOT the broadcast booth. This is because they have people at the station running a board for all of this. KGVM doesn't, they just have me, running all commercials and sound from my laptop.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. I am always down for improving WHAT I CAN when it comes to the broadcast...
EDIT-- To summarize, the fix needs to be at the computer at Van Winkle that runs NFHS, and update the software on it. (This is what NFHS has told me)

Can we start with paying the Play-by-Play guy that does the games?? (Kidding... a little)

See, sponsors can be good.
At least getting your expenses paid.
Also, would it help to have volunteer(s) to help?
How about a Windows ME PC for the audio connection?
Or 3.1.1 with a 8 bit audio card?
But seriously I have many old computers/laptops if needed.
See if RJ has a free Friday, add some color commentary?

The issue isn't with my computer, but with the one that the High Schools have. I know that they are looking at updating the software, but that is up to the Schools not me.DMMDCats wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 5:49 pmSee, sponsors can be good.

This is a great play on both ends and great camera work.
