He just placed 5th in the Tour of California and won "Best young rider" white jersey. He's a candidate for the Tour de France team this summer.
He grew up in Bozeman although he now lives in Tacoma.

Wow... The "every cyclist is doping" train is running full speed ahead. Don't bother to follow the sport and be informed.

They did it to themselves. Doesn't matter how many guys do it. In baseball, everybody who has a ridiculous season now is going to be under the microscope. It's going to be the same way with cycling now.

So be good and competitive, but if you kick a$$ to much or to long you must be doping? Being guilty for being good, interesting thought process.
Unlike most people on this board, I actually follow cycling. I really feel like there has been a culture change were doping is looked at negatively withing the peloton. The spate of reports and suspensions has seemed to drop in the last few years.

Well I'm glad the culture is changing. I don't profess to know much about cycling, having only watched a few minutes here and there. I'm just saying in baseball, there are some severely tarnished records due to performance enhancing drugs, and because of that people are going to be wary of anyone who breaks/shatters any records. I'm not saying in every sport if someone is great, people will assume they are doping. That stance is only attained from sports who have had problems with doping. It'll die down, people will forget, and the sport will move on. Baseball and cycling alike.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've read on BN in awhile.

If that's the same hammer from e-griz, just consider the source. He never does seem like he has any class what so ever.

Im actually not the same hammer from egriz. I do know him pretty well though. maybe you crybabies should learn to have a sense of humor. And dont try to tell me doping isnt happening at every big race. How many big names have been caught or have confessed. To me the sport has less credibility than Professional wrestling

Come back when you've got something intelligent to say hammer. Thanks

It's obvious by your comments you don't follow the sport enough.
Brush up on the sport, instead of repeating the headlines so we can have an intelligent discussion.

I have better $hit to do than brush up on the "sport". I'll let you, Floyd, Alberto, Tyler, George and Lance have a little chat about it. I'm gonna go suck down a few more beers on this fine Friday evening

Tejay had a VERY big day today. After helping his teamate Mark Cavendish win two sprint stages on the flat roads, today the elevation started kicking up. Today was an intermediate mountain stage and Tejay got in a 9 man breakaway early in the stage. He was the first over the highest climb on the route, a cat 2 climb which netted him 5 points in the King of Mountains classification. He faded on the final climb, but he got himself on the podium with the pretty girls at the end of the day-slipping on the Polka Dot Jersey for his lead in the King of the Mountains classification. He also was voted as the day's most aggressive rider. I think he gets to wear a red number for that. Getting one the four jerseys in the Tour de France-even for a day -is a big deal for a pro cyclist-and Tejay at 22 is one of the youngest in the race. It will be interesting to see if he can keep the Polka Dot Jersey a little while longer-but in any case he has a really nice souvenir.

Awesome day of racing all around. From what the commentators were saying they felt Teejay ran out of gas a little bit, as he'd been working very hard for the team in preceding days. May have been a bit run down. Wish I had that much gas!
Major honor to be "King of the Mountains" for however long it lasts....Hopefully till the end...who knows he'll have some stiff competition when this gets going in earnest on day 12. Looks evil, as does stage 14. I know I'll be glued to the coverage.
