I do not watch either the NBA or the WNBA. I was just curious on thoughts on the flagrant foul, or have there been multiple fouls? The replay of the aftermath of the foul, high fiving and hugging. She has been rumored to be some of the cause due to trash talking, as if there has never been trash talking in the league. Jealousy, racism, etc...

I have definitely seen opponents go after Clark on the court. It is similar to what the Detroit Pistons did to Michael Jordan - they went after him physically with borderline dirty fouls. If you saw the last foul on Clark by the Chicago Sky, that was just flat out wrong. No place for that in basketball. She hit her from the back with the ball not even in play.

Certain of the WNBA teams and players are clearly resentful of the fact that Clark got many times more attention playing NCAA than the “pro” players do. Instead of taking this as a learning opportunity, even the coaches and administrators (and seemingly officials) are being pretty-short sighted — although once they finish cutting their nose off to spite their face, their vision may improve.

The WNBA is failing to ask itself one simple question: Why was Caitlin Clark getting so much more attention? The answer is pretty simple — pure basketball skills. Uncanny passes, quick hands, other-worldly shooting. All in one player, at a higher level than any NCAA player before her.

So, they have to show her that she can’t compete in whatever sport the WNBA plays. By roughing her up (with seemingly no fear of reprisal) at every opportunity. I’m sure they’ll be happy to continue in obscurity once she turns her back on them. Caitlin Clark would be a *huge* draw in Europe — and I’d love to see her go. Why should she stay where she is despised?

Well, the $28 million Nike contract she just signed for one thing. Caitlin will be fine, she's mentally tough and can handle it although the league does need to crack down on any players who take it beyond the expected level of physical play that will always be greater at the pro level than in college. It also has to be tough this year going from the college season straight to the WNBA and then having such a front-loaded schedule (When Indiana played their 11th game, the defending champions Las Vegas had only played 6) to contend with. She must be pretty exhausted, I almost hope she doesn't make the Olympic team so she can have a break for a few weeks.
