I grew up in Montana, part of the time as a cat fan. And while I heard both, I heard "Griz/cat as much as cat/Griz. I have never said it cat/Griz.MSU Toddler wrote:you're kidding right? i mean it is one thing to want to change it so that griz goes first if you are a griz fan, but i've really only heard griz fans forcing that name over the last couple years. grew up in the flathead and was surrounded by griz fans (heck, even wore a Bobcat Busters shirt in highschool - ala ghost busters - hate to admit it, but its true) and never heard grizcat. unless you are about 5 years old, it is hard for me to believe that this has been around the majority of your life (not trying to say you are a five year old either --- sorry)?I spent the majority of my life in Montana and hear it all the time. Heard it several times just last week while in Missoula.
as far as hearing that around missoula recently, i don't doubt it.
oh well . . . i won't change you - you won't change me type of things.

I think by now they know we are on the same side, Pal. Besides, why would they ban me cause you taught me everything I know: to be sneaky like you, pick on people, push the limits. If they only knew what you said on eGriz, then we both might be banned. Can somebody ban him??
Anyway, call me and we can coordinate our clothes for the game.

as i mentioned, to each his own right?I grew up in Montana, part of the time as a cat fan. And while I heard both, I heard "Griz/cat as much as cat/Griz. I have never said it cat/Griz.
i spent the last 40+ years living in montana, being around griz fans (am one myself - was more of a griz fan growing up at a kid), have tons of griz friends (the crazy kind that buy maroon cars - dedicated), griz relatives and neighbors. i travel the state weekly and just haven't heard that term. in fact, have asked some griz fans and they laugh and say "oh sure". i'm probably wrong and in the minority here (and what does it really matter), but it just sounds funny.
grizinwa, what part of montana do you live where grizCat is more common?
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Past tense: DID live. Helena. And as my post said, I don't know that it was more common. I heard both. I know this: I was around about 60 Griz fans today watching the UNC mauling, and I didn't hear 'cat/Griz' once. But it's a stupid argument anyhow. Who cares?MSU Toddler wrote:as i mentioned, to each his own right?I grew up in Montana, part of the time as a cat fan. And while I heard both, I heard "Griz/cat as much as cat/Griz. For the griz with dyslexia (or other obvious mental disorders), it may appear as griz/Cat.
p.s.
To the fiz- there is no scientific evidence to support the use of multiple bong hits as a remedy to backward thinking).
