That being said, enough of this "THE ROCK" chit as if it's the best home field in the history of home fields.
Come on, now. One -- there was barely anybody there. Two -- the track around the football field is gayer than Elton John. That's some high school nonsense there. Oh, and don't let me forget how lame the soccer lines are.
Again, great game and props to ASU. However, you have a long way to go before you can true home field snobs.
There was at least as many people as last week (16,600) if not more. The home side was 96% full and the other side wasn't that bad. There was more people on the hill.
Yes, we hate the track too. The stadium's been there since the 60's so we got to live with it. We're renovating the stadium in the offseason to make a new press box, a visitors side press box, etc, but no track moving. It'll be there for at least five more years.
As for the soccer lines, we can't move them either. We just opened our new soccer field, but we still use the stadium field at times cause it holds up better in the rain. Also, it's field turf, so it won't be easy to get off.
Your gripes on the stadium are shared by many, but since we're in the mountains, there isn't much other option. We gotta do with what we have.
And ask some of your buddies how "lame" The Rock is when they get back. We make the most of it. We're rabid, faithful, and in big numbers. Ask them how the APP.....STATE chant sounded with each side yelling their word? I'm sure they can vouch how The Rock is not "lame". There's a reason we've won 26 straight home games.
