You guys are nuts.

The BSC has one good team every year, one average team and the other 7 fight like hell to get above .400.

As for your why did a 7-4 team in the BSC get an at large bid, I won't explain that if you don't already know.

Maybe if you re-read my post you will see I wasn't making excuses, I said he would be fine this year but when he gets his guys into the program watch out.
Biggest homer post on the board that I have EVER seen. Period.

JOE GLENN is a better coach than Glanville is, BECAUSE GLENN HAS A HISTORY TO PROVE IT. JG doesn't have anything really, just a couple of LOSSES, one of which was to a team that was supposed to be inferior to PSU (Davis).
There's a couple points worth mentioning that don't make this a fair comparison. First, prior to going to Wyoming, Joe Glenn never had a losing season. But that impressive record was established at a DII school. He won a championship at Missoula. By all means those are notable accomplishments. Despite those successes, he is struggling at the next level.

JG has been a head coach in the NFL. That alone, IMO, makes him the most dangerous coach in the BSC. Bad coaches don't make it to the NFL. Even if they're able to sneak in under the radar, the pretenders are quickly sniffed out. The fact he lasted as long as he did and took teams to the playoffs is a good indicator JG knows what he's doing. Even sh***y NFL coaches are still the cream of the crop and the best in the world.

I think the determining factor in whether JG will be successful at this level is whether he can show a little humility and get over himself. That being said, I hope the Cats steamroll him while he's down before he gets his s**t together. When that happens, PSU will be tough. [/rant]

Cledus quit making posts based on facts and common sense.

You must not have got the memo to slam Glanville solely based on your personal feelings about him and his ego. Your not supposed to present the fact that he is a good coach.

Please try and keep up man.

YOU said that JG is, quote, "....the best coach in the BSC. Period." Well, considering how he hasn't even done much of anything in this league yet, I'd say that there are others who were/are better. He might be an NFL coach, but that doesn't automatically make him the best coach in the BSC. I've been saying that all along. He comes in here with all this hype, loses at McNeese, and then lays a big fat egg against Davis, who btw lost to a DII team the week before. I don't really think he merits the title of "best coach in the Big Sky" just yet. Or maybe ever.

06,

Please tell me that you realize that he is an NFL caliber coach?

Please tell me somebody other than Marty Mornihweg that has coached in the Big Sky and coached in the NFL.

If you can't admit that it is ridiculous for PSU to get a coach of his quality then I give up.

The guy can teach things that no other coach in the Big Sky can about getting to the next level.

He is coaching players recruited by a very average coach, but he will still make them play above anything they have in the past. If he stays there 4 years and gets HIS recruits in place and doesn't win the BSC then tell me how wrong I am, until then your smoking some really good crack.

I can't believe I left him out.

I also want to add that Erickson coached in the NFL but never came back to coach in the BSC.

And just to bash Erickson, Glanville had way better NFL teams than DE did.

You guys are convincing me though, Glanville really sucks. ](*,)

And sticking with your argument, what BSC team did Morninweg come back to coach?

Erickson after his Seahawk stint was HC at Oregon St., Idaho and is now at AZ St.(with a year at the Niners in between, and no reason to bring up the fact that prior to that he was HC at ID, WY, Wazou, and won a national championship at Miami).

Sorry, but Glanville is a joke- you can pump smoke up his butt all you want, but in the long run you're gonna lose.

He's a great coach, he will make PSU a winner this year and will make them a powerhouse if he stays for more than 3-4 years.

I am done with this for now, but I will come back to throw it in all your faces when I am proven right.

When he has a sub .500 season and then quits or moves on I presume that you will be back to say that he was all smoke and mirrors.

No.

Unlike many on the internet if I am wrong I will go out of my to to make sure you all know I was wrong. I own up to the stuff I say.

Without looking, I can think of Doug Graber, Dave Arnold, Jim McElwain and you might recognize, Marvin Lewis. There's quite a coaching tree through NAU, too, so I'm sure there's more.

With looking: the top 10 all-time in BSC winning percentage are

1. Joe Glenn (.867 overall)
2. Tony Knap (BSU)
3. Mick Dennehy
4. Bobby Hauck
5. Keith Gilbertson (Idaho)
6. Jim Criner (BSU)
7. John L. Smith (Idaho)
8. Don Read
9. Chris Ault (Reno)
10. Dennis Erickson (Idaho) (.680 overall)

Glanville is now .333 overall but CLIMBING!

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

I think you are going to choke on those words.
