2001 is getting very far in the rear view mirror. So are the huge playoff blowout losses the Griz used to enjoy in the playoffs :) Like every streak, there is always a slide back to normality. :)
If 2001 is far, your last championship must seem like a couple of life times ago.
I see a new one on the horizon soon. MSU hasn't peaked like the Griz have :)
Sadly, state peaked in 1984 and hasn't been able to do much of anything since. GRIZ on the other had have been a perennial powerhouse. Definitely a top 5 team for the past decade.

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

With the exception of App State, no FCS team can compare to Montana over the past 5 years. If you go out 10 or 15, Ga Southern would be a consideration. However, their last 5 or 6 years really hurts them. They have missed the playoffs and even finished under .500. From a success and consistency standpoint, no one can compare with Montana. Alfalfa just believes a team can win the NC every year.

I am trying to believe that a team can't but App St is making that arguement hard.

No reason why they don't win it all again this year.

Ok so weren't ALL these teams supposed to have been there more times than Montana?

And - when does your period end?

There IS a reason they won't do it all over again:

North Dakota State.

Until someone provides evidence to suggest otherwise, I stand by what I've said. Not one FCS team can compate with Montana over the last 10 or 15 years. It's been a remarkable run. In the short run there's been better teams. But over the long haul, Montana has been the stalwart of FCS football, and no one can deny it.

No denying your logic GinWa, but ultimately it comes down to winning championships. Yes, you have two, but have a losing record in title games. You have been to the playoffs 14 straight years, but have lost out in the first round more times than any griz fan would like to be reminded of. All I have to say is - the Montana Grizzlies: "Atlanta Braves of FCS Football!"

Gotta give it to the east coast teams, they're good. Bottom line, we own the cats and the BSC. 8)

Other than the semis just about every other year and the occassional national title.

Better than three wins over your rival every twenty years..........For the Cats that's as far as it goes :D

We're all so very proud of guys - here's a cookie. By the way, other than griz fans, who remembers your trips to the semis? Last time I checked, they didn't hand out any hardware for teams that almost made it.

Ah, yeah. Win the BSC damn near every year? Check. Beat the cats damn near every year? Check.

After that, it's beat down by the east coast. I admitted that.

But we still won the confernce and beat you. I guess now we'll try and win a playoff game. :bag:

This is stupid smack. Griz fans can boast they own the cats but since the cats are owned by the Griz, they have to brag about whoever beats the Griz. Again, because the cats can't do it.

I'm out, have a nice weekend.

BG - I agree it's stupid smack, but you see, most every griz fan that comes onto this board talks about how it's not important to beat the Cats; that's it's all about the playoffs. So using that logic, what's so great about bragging up all your victories over MSU? Why waste your time? Shouldn't griz fans talk about all that success in the playoffs? To hear you guys talk, the less-knowledgeable fan would just have to assume that you win the National Title every year. I just smack on you griz boys about the playoffs because that's what you have told us that mattered to you. Evidently not?

I too, am outta here. Time to get my weekend started. Beers to you my friend :suds: :D
