MSU support at Tournament
I'll start this in smack because I have no doubt it will denigrate into that. And I'll also preface this comment with the following disclaimer: I have heard this only as a rumor and have no first-hand knowledge, so please correct me if I'm mistaken.
That said, I have heard that MSU did not have their band, cheerleaders or mascot at the BSC Women's tournament? Is that correct?? If so, that seems rather short-sighted to me. It's not as if they have a wealth of other responsibilities currently.

When I become a billionaire, I'm gonna donate a million bucks to the SOTW band so that they can offer partial scholarships and so that they can also travel with the teams to away games.

That's too bad. For tournaments the band and cheer squad should attend. Hell, particularly since the games are a short bus ride away. I mean for the Championship, they could go over and back in the same day. Someone should be able to cough up a couple of dead presidents to get them there IMO.SaxCat1985 wrote:The band hasn't traveled for anything since I got here in 2004. And as far back as I have heard the band hasn't traveled to a tourney in even longer than that.
There isnt any money in the band's budget to travel. Athletics doesn't seem to think it's all that important either.

Makes you wonder why high schools can do it but a major University cannot?GrizinWashington wrote:That's too bad. For tournaments the band and cheer squad should attend. Fewer and few high schools are doing it now due to budget constraints.CARDIAC_CATS wrote:Makes you wonder why high schools can do it but a major University cannot?GrizinWashington wrote:That's too bad.
