When the griz changed from copper and gold, WSU's colors were Maroon and Silver. WSU has only been moving more to a scarlet red and silver or white the past few seasons. Therefore when the griz are accussed of trying to be WSU east, it comes from naming their stadium Washington Stadium and changing to the maroon and silver at the SAME time.

Wazzu's official colors are Crimson and Silver

Technically they are Crimson and grey (from their fight song), but you can clearly see from historical uniforms that the "crimson" they wore was more the color of maroon. You can see at the helmet project the exact years, that they used each, compare those to when the griz changed their color (96) and they are the same.
