Why attend Missoula?

Post by autocat » Wed Jan 28, 2009 11:35 am

Football programs go in cycles! The program has peaked! The only direction to go is down, what is there left to prove, how to make it to the title game and lose? Don't tell me about the past years, I'm talking about the future!

Most programs peak after shorter cycles, so I don't believe the Griz are in a cycle. They will always be good as long as they stay in the Big Sky Conference and we all stay way behind them with attendence, facilities, etc.

First off, you say "attend" so I'm assuming you mean the average student and not a prospective player. There are a thousand reasons why you go to a school and football is most likely not the deciding factor for most students. For instance, if your dream carreer is working at McDonald's, then you would go to Bozeman no matter how good/bad their football team is. (Sorry, it's in the smack talk section and I didn't want to disappoint.

Second, why would the program be dropping off now and not, say, 2-3 years ago or 7-8 years ago? How long has Duke been one of the top programs in NCAA basketball? Do you see them having a cycle anytime soon? Yes, I'm saying the Griz are the Blue Devils of the FCS.

Better question would be, why to to bozo? Sucked last decade, sucked last year, will suck this year and will suck forever more.

Well basically anyone with some basic knowledge on how to write can find a slip of paper, find a crayon, write their name, and send it to the admissions office and Waa-Laa! They're attending Missoula CC (aka dUMb)

Ahhh. So now it's clear why you attended msu; couldn't meet UM's admission standards.

The University of Montana has produced:

- 28 Rhodes Scholars.

- 8 Pulitzer Prize winners.

- 39 Fulbright Scholars.

Try to match it. I dare you. MSU won't even come close.

Top Tier Research University- ranked by the Carnegie Foundation

47 Goldwater Scholars, ranking in the top 12 for all schools

14 Fulbright student grants in the past 10 years

Top ten for pass rate on the CPA exam

One of 44 schools to receive Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant

Medical and vet school acceptance rates over 80% (national avg. ~45%)

94% pass rate on the NPLEX (100% for FNP)

16 Phi Kappa Phi Fellowships in 17 years
*National leader in PKP awards

90% pass rate on the FE exam, required of all engineering students to graduate (less than 10% of school have this requirement)

You're right. Montana State isn't close to dUMb. It's much better.
