Re: Could this be true
P.S. While all titles certainly mean something, they have a weighted value. I would rather win at a higher level, but hey, apparently that's just me.

Interesting that a person that makes fun of Tie-tles is arguing the '56 champs down just to pull even with us in that sport. We have two you have two, while playing on equal ground. We happen to have another from NAIA, you didn't even have a conference title until you got in the Big Sky and it took seven years to get that and you only had three in the first 30 years of the BSC. If it's so easy to imagine that you would've won it all in the NAIA, then why did it take so long to get your s--t together in the BSC against these little schools?
Lets not forget we have a title in basketball, none for you. We have a bunch of NC's in men's rodeo, none for you. We have two NC's in women's rodeo, none for you. We have individual national champions in track and field and skiing, none for you.

I have stated on numerous occasions I am impressed with both the Golden Bobcats, and MSU's rodeo history. While track athletes impress me, as a fan, I don't care. I'm glad both schools have track programs, but you won't see me clipping out articles anytime soon. I could see UM winning in rodeo, but basketball would take a Cinderella story. Does MSU still have basketball? I know they did when I went to school, but I haven't heard a thing since.
As far as winning Big Sky Titles goes, it may have taken the Griz a little while to figure it out, but do I really need to remind what happened when they did? I actually remember Cat fans bringing this up a decade or so ago, and then getting really quiet when the ratio shifted out of their favor. As a lifelong Red Sox fan I often wonder what it was like for Sox fans before 1918. Destroying the Yankees, Winning Titles, probably getting all kinds of WWI era tail. But I don't live in that time, and I know the Yankees are the most successful franchise. I don't like it, but I know it. (No, the Grizzlies are NOT the Yankees of the FCS, somewhat in the BSC, but not the FCS).
Fact of the matter is your argument would be pretty sound in 1984; I don't think I have a leg to stand on 28 years. Thank goodness it's 2012. I will however concede you folks have at least two years of being legitimate title contenders (I don't know what goes beyond that for either school). I think it was yours for the taking in 2010 (2004 still haunts me).
Who knows....I'm tired.
