In the last 10 years the Griz have lost to EWU 3 times and MSU 3 times. Not the same as comparing this century, but going over the last 10, thats what you get.

The Griz have been dominant and if we can just be nearly as dominant, I'd be very happy. Having won 3 of the last 6, we're getting there in that department. We just need another set of sky boxes, another 5,000 seats, a decent parking lot, and playoff appearances almost every year.

I'll beat the Griz posters to the punch and just say that UM went deep into the playoffs in 2006 reaching the semis. I figure you'd rather hear from me than them.

I think the eye-popping and most telling stat about UM is that they are 2-4 against teams from the SoCon, CAA and Gateway in the playoffs under Buh-bay. Both wins were at home, three losses were at home and the other loss was at a neutral site. So you play five home games, no road games and one game at a neutral site and go 2-4. That's where UM is slipping. They can no longer keep up with the teams in the big conferences.

Glenn was 4-1 against teams from those conferences in the playoffs. He won three of the four at home and split the other two on neutral fields. This is what a good coach does...win home playoff games.

Glenn was 7-0 overall in home playoff games in three years. Buh-bay is just 5-4 in five years. His '04 playoff run really saves him. Without it he's just 2-4 at home. That was the year all the top seeds kept getting knocked off right in front of UM and they didn't have to take to the road and play on someone else's home field...an almost sure loser for UM.

This is the difference in Griz football today vs. yesteryear. They no longer have the ability to beat the good teams with consistency even at home.

This is trivial, but Buh-bay has never coached a game on someone's elses home field in the playoffs. His only game away from W-G was the '04 title game, which was a neutral site. Since 1998 UM has only played one road game in the playoffs. Nine years, 17 games at home, one on the road, three at neutral sites. 12-8.

The fairweatherfans who were a part of the 95 and 01 "even a blind pig finds and acorn once in a great while" feel-good-about-themselves somehow construe making the podunk playoffs every year in the only show in town atmosphere a testimony to their self-professed "great program." Yeah, everybody in the state heads for a 25k stadium!

Meanwhile, check out the programs that have moved up and on during their period of "dominance." In fact, check out the programs that have started from scratch and moved on. Oh well, we'll continue to allow the board of regents to allow them that satisfaction and we can argue with them whether or not a second tier Washington college is better than one of our flagship institutions and in a few years we'll be wondering why the Dakotas, Wyoming and Idaho have all stepped up and aren't looking at past accomplishments in a fatally flawed playoff system.

Let's all bow to Bobby who's doing everything in his power to get out of there to triple his salary as a position coach and one of those stupid bowl conference teams
