The only thing I would like to add to this discussion is a retort to the author, because he unwittingly throws all of our conference teams under the bus when talking about how bad our conference is. All I would like to say is, given the ridiculous advantages Washington would have over all of our Big Sky schools - combined - how many of us would put an absolute beatdown on the pathetic Huskies? I would guess at least four.

If Hauck is so terrible as the author suggests and you seem to agree with, how does that jive with the fact that the rest of the conference is so great, seeing as how Hauck's Grizzlies year in and year out put a beating on everyone in this friggin' conference.
Either he's wrong about Hauck. Or he's wrong about the conference. Can't be both, so which is it?

Well, if you actually read the article for its content instead of getting all worked up when someone dares to insult your boyfriend, you would realize that what he is saying is that ANYONE can win at Montana because of the tremendous advantages they have over pretty much EVERY school they recruit against. Many of us agree with that premise, and I am sure you disagree. Fine. But don't be coming over here looking for support of Bobby as a coach.

Seriously dude, you really need to get a life. I'm pretty sure we all generally stick together when it comes to outsiders ripping on our conference, even though we all can't stand most schools in our conference individually, and for different reasons. I'm also pretty sure this is a Bobcat board, although that little fact seems to be lost on you.

I have an idea- Maybe all of you griz fans should quit complaining about how weak the Big Sky is and do something about your own pre-season schedule. All of you think that your sh*t doesn't stink and yet when the schedule has the opportuntiy to be tough all I see on there are teams that could play agianst a 6 man team. If I were you I wouldnt be focusing on the conference here.....I would be looking all the "off field" issues. That really add up when listed in one article!

It wouldn't matter if we scheduled Ohio State and USC. The BSC would still suck. Except for Weber.

This year's Griz OOC oppononents have beaten the Cats by a combined score of 117 - 33 (21 points per game) the last time they met. It seems they have a history taking you guys to the woodshed.

This is a rather ironic statement given that this thread is entirely about the head coach of the Montana Grizzlies. Who, pray tell, is obsessed?

If it's true that anyone would be a successful coach at Montana then why don't they just a get a volunteer to do it and save the Athletic Dept. some cash?

By that logic, every single college sports message board was created because the "almighty griz" had one. Get real, jerkoff...

While the author makes some good points, his whole premise seems to be that Montana is only successful because of it's stadium. While there's no doubt that a nice stadium helps tremendously in recruitment, can you really attribute ALL the success Montana has had on it's bleachers? How many kids do they pick up solely because of WGS?
Still, some good points made even though there's really no news in the article that everyone didn't already know. Montana clearly has an advantage in recruiting (due to things other than it's stadium) and it drives me nuts to hear people say how good a recruiter Hauck is. Even Billings_Griz could recruit kids to go there.
I wonder if his opinion (or anyone for that matter) would change if Hauck took the Griz to a championship game and won it? Or, would it be "well, he was supposed to", just like every year. One thing's for sure, the Griz head coaching position comes with a lot of expectations and stress. Win, and you're supposed to win. Lose, and God forbid.
