Don't know that it's much of an excuse, but it's a reason:

The offense simply sucks ass. I mean, seriously, if I'm a QB and I'm throwing into the wind I put a little extra mustard on it - that's just me. Alternatively, if I'm trying to throw it away, I throw it in the stands instead of to a defender (crappy call btw, he was out of bounds - but it wouldn't have mattered big picture).

Offense can't protect the ball, period. Heck, I guess it's an excuse.

The turnover margin on the year was -7. That we went 7-4 on the year is a miracle.

Sorry, Cled. He was NOT OB on the pick. Video showed it VERY clearly. One foot in, at least 4-5 inches from the sideline.

And while your offense isn't stellar, Montana's defense made them look much, much worse than they are.

We're all here 'cause we ain't all there.

yeah he was in. the other problem with that pick is Gilbert just watched it happen. didn't make a play back on the ball. I don't think he ever saw the defender.

Bobby Hauck's nose created a low pressure cell over the stadium, which wreaked havoc on our players' equilibrium in their inner ears, rendering our offensive output utterly ineffective. Clearly, the Griz players are used to this and therefore were unaffected.
