Now, to reply to this whole Cat lover/Griz hater thing...

CTOWM,

I am glad that you root for us when we're not playing the Griz because, quite frankly, we need the support! LOL

But I do regret to inform you that in MY Bobcat Heaven, the Griz would NEVER WIN ANOTHER FOOTBALL GAME!!!!

There's no doubt that the Dark Ages (16 straight) contributed significantly to my loathing of the Griz, but I agree with many others here: The overall arrogance of MOST Griz fans makes them absolutely unBEARable (see Scott Gurnsey...). Another thing that almost WEEKLY ticks me off is the manner in which the Fizzlies win; blocked field goals, bad calls/no-calls by the refs, fumble returns for touchdowns, kick/punt returns for scores, last-second field goals... No team has ever snatched victory from the jaws of defeat more than UM the last 15 years or so. There is NO doubt in my mind that the Grizzlies have become the luckiest team in football. You Griz fans may wish to exchange the term "most-blessed" for luckiest...

It doesn't bother me, however, that there are rabid Griz fans who want the Cats to lose forever. I think the rivalry is AWESOME!! I feel sorry for fans/schools who don't have a significant rivalry; Flathead High is a classic example. We have just the 1 school here and really don't have that one, most-hated team that we live to beat...

I proudly wear my Cat gear when in Missoula; I have found that most people NOT IN BARS are civil & will strike up a good-natured conversation when they see you are a Bobcat. But wearing "Cattire" into a bar in Missoula is an adventure one must experience!! Of course, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are bigger than 6'2", 225 pounds, or have at least 5 friends with you; or both! Griz fans in bars are definitely instant a**holes - just add alcohol!

To summarize, the rivalry is really what "makes" us Bobcats & Grizzlies; without each other, life would be far less interesting. So from that perspective - THANKS GRIZ, FOR GIVING ME SOMETHING TO DESPISE!!!!
LOL

Peace.

Two sides to every fight and after reading El Gatno It doesn't supprise me he has a hard time in the Msla Bars. (takes an A hole to know a A hole)

I don't think a cat should be talking about lucky this year.

Your right, it wasn't luck at all. Game winning drive in Weber game with a clutch kick. And then another solid game winning drive (and tough) defense to seal another OT win. Your right, it wasn't luck at all. Its called the CARDIAC CATS baby!

Luck is when the EWU kicker kicks the ball into the groin of the Griz player who gets credit for blocking it :) That is luck.

El Gato,
I have no problem with you hating the Griz. There are haters on both sides of the divide. I do believe you when you say the 16 straight contributed to this hatred. I think this is why many Cat fans hate the Griz. That and the fact some Griz fans (or any fans with a successful program) can be unbearable with their poor sportsmanship. e.g. "we won and you suck" attitudes.

I've come to understand that every team has it's share of piss poor fans, both in winning and losing. There is nothing wrong with celebrating a win and upset about a loss. But some fans take it too far on both sides. I know I've been on the "earful" side of some obnoxious Cat fans and seen some Griz fans that do the same. Those people must have ate paint chips as children. Their self esteems are so low they voice their hatred towards the opposing team more than their support for their own.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no angel and in my younger days (not that long ago) I've been known to yell out my share of expletives and finger gestures.

As far as the Griz winning at the end of games and with some luck. As a Cat fan I'm surprised you would bring this up. The Cats have had their share of close games won by a lucky bounce or a questionable call. And besides, haven't you heard....good teams find a way to win and make their own luck. This year, both the Griz and the Cats are finding ways to win and the Cat/Griz should bring out the best and worst in all of us.

maybe i need a replay of the blocked kick. didn't look like luck to me. BTW the Griz had a kick "blocked" in that game too. And if anything was considered luck in the EWU game it had to be the bad squib that was kicked right into a Griz players leg and bounced right into the hands of EWU. That, is luck. Considering how many Kicks/PATs the Griz have blocked this year, I would say that it just may not be luck at all, but skill and kick block coaching.

I watched the block to seal the win for the Griz in the EWU game. While it wasn't luck by any means, to call it skill is a bit of a stretch. EWU's line parted like the Red Sea to allow MacIntyre in to block that one.

Whitemeat,

I agree that our side has it's share of dip***ts as well. But I consider myself a "civil" Griz hater. As I said, I LOVE the rivalry; it keeps me young!

I love the way Kramer talks about the Griz; he couldn't be more opposite than Hauck, who I truly believe will take the Griz back to mediocrity if given 2 more seasons after this one. Coach K openly states his admiration of the program that DON READ built in Missoula and how he hopes to emulate it at MSU. I feel the same way; I respect what Grizzly football has become & I too hope we can achieve that status someday. I've said for years that the Griz "tradition" alone nets them at least 3 kids more than the Cats get each year & that the Griz essentially start every game up 14 - 0 just because of their mind-set.

But I also know that nothing pleases Kramer more than being the biggest Griz-beater alive. I feel I can respect your program & what it's accomplished and still hate it at the same time. Hold on a second, it's time for my medication...

Now this is comedy. Kramer, the "biggest Griz-beater alive", has beaten the Griz a total of 2 times.

Sausage-crotch, vomit-brain,

You Griz fans find a way to eliminate the 2 times Krames beat you at EWU?

I believe Coach K is 4 - 4 against the greatest football team on the planet. That's pretty impressive regardless of which drug has induced your mind-fog...

gotno.
I'll give you credit for knowing that a .500 record against the greatest football team going is doing a good job.
