And just to clarify to you, I was not the one verbally assaulting the Griz fans. You should know that things like that will happen during Cat/Griz games. Its called Rivalry. I've seen it the other way in Missoula as well. Both sides have wild/obnoxious fans. Why don't you just smile and brush it off or are you just used to winning all the time? Losing does hurt doesn't it? Try 16 years of it.

I do not condone that type of behavior (AND ESPECIALLY IF THERE ARE THINGS BEING THROWN), but I am just realistic that its going to happen. Especially at a college game with drunk college students. The best advice I can give to you is simply to only attend PERFECT GAMES in your PERFECT STADIUM I guess. Maybe thats why you were a little RAZZLED? YOu weren't playing at home (which is rare).

Please, please, please never compare MSU fans to Oakland Raider fans. If you go to a couple of their games, you will know what I mean. The average IQ of the Bay Area would increase noticably if a Raiders sell-out game was collectively abducted by aliens and flown to the planet ZSDRWES.

Stupid, obnoxious, abusive fans are bad, regardless of what colors they wear. I've seen too many of them representing too many different teams to ever defend any of them. They represent the worst in people, and in my mind are no different than people who hate based on race, gender, religion, etc. It's all stupid and pointless. Passion in supporting a team is great, but when it crossed over the line and involves abuse, it's just ugly.

Okay .. bad example I know heheeh .. but was trying to put the rowdy example in there which some MSU fans can be. I'm a Charger fan so I know how Raider fans can be.

One example I can best put this is when I wore my Seau Jersey (many times) to Mile High Stadium? Do you think I though I was going to get harrassed? HECK YEAH! And the Broncos (as much as I hate them, have one of the best fan base in the NFL .. but I guess they are all dorks for harrassing me because I'm wearing charger colors in their stadium?).

So I guess if you can't stand the heat and smile when someone is teasing you about your team, then you shouldn't go to those places. Especially if its still eating you up after 4-5 months. Thats not healthy. I would think if your talking sportsmanship you would be able to smile and brush it off I would think. Thats what I do.

Well said BAC, though as a Raiders fan I am still trying to decide if I should take offense to that first part. Good thing you didn't call them the Faiders or I really would have been upset!

kmax: Yeah, I have to be pretty careful when I Raider-bash around here in particular. There are a lot of pretty good Raider fans as well, but those aren't the ones who give them the rep that they seem to cherish. To give equal time, I have seen my fair share of idiot 49er fans as well, so neither team in this area (or probably any NFL team, for that matter) is exempt from being loved by hooligans.

And I would never, ever call them the Faiders... I only save that kind of language when I really, really want to be mean.

I like the notion that Kramer = Griz killer.

Think about it, at EWU and MSU Kramer has a nice record against the Griz. kramer rocks. Go Cats!

And all the smack talking between the fans!! I would like to see people knock it off. The cat Griz rivalry is the greatest sporting event Montana has.

All this yelling, talking, smacking makes me think of Raider fans.

Do people in Montana Really want to be like raider fans? (Hehehehehe)

hoags: You and I think exactly alike. There's nothing that depresses me more about people in general that spending a few minutes listening to Raiders fans proclaim their passions on JT the Brick. We can do better....

:) Sorry to use Raiders fans and Bobcat fans in the same sentence. I didn't mean to cause such a stir. I guess we all know how bad some Raider fans can get :)

Wow  comparing fan atmosphere at the litter box to the one of the LOUDEST venues in ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL......lets me know that you NEED a regular fall trip to Missoula!

Passionate fans.......an 11,000 vs. 23,000 average.......Good luck with that argument

The Raider fans are one thing, but I'd welcome to debate anyone on why the Philly Eagle fans shouldn't be the poster children of the most obnoxious fans on the North American continent! Most of them don't bother with face paint, deeming such behaviour as "cheezy". They just come in, down 4 or 5 milkshake cartons of beer and get pi$$ed off at everyone, especially their own. And when it's time to offboard the beer, hey..the head is clear over there and it's cold, so just pull down the old fly and let go. The poor schumks sitting in the level down below get dripped on by recycled MGD. Maybe the new stadium will bring some civility....sure.
But I digress. This is the Bobcat Board where, to quote Garrison Keeler, all the men a strong, all the women good looking and all the children above average.

11,000 roudy fans and 23,000 lame fans sitting on their butts. Yes, there is a difference .... your just lucky you sit in a hole in the ground to keep some of the noise from your cheerleaders in.

I don't remember WA/GRZ stadium being one of the "loudest venues in all of college football" about a year and a half ago. In fact I was disapointed in how quiet the griz fans were. I believe Kramer even comented how quiet the stadium was for such a close game.

I love the misguided bobcat fan that will, on occasion, put his foot in his mouth!!!

You folks get two games with 11,000 "rowdy" fans...Homecoming and every other year at cat/Griz!

And how can you compare the 23,000 "lame" fans (obviously never been there) to the 11,000 folks who I saw throwing garbage at their own sidelines a couple of years ago???

Enjoy the couple of wins you've had over the Griz, you earned them! However, try not to make stupid statements...

Many cat fans haven't realized that we are drastically outnumbered by griz fans, due to jumping on the bandwagon.

Give it a few years (let the cats beat the griz a few more times and win the conference a couple more times) and its gonna be us going to the griz forums telling them how much louder and rowdier our fans are than theirs.

And all us tailgaters will actually go in the stadium and watch the game instead of drinking our sorrows away.

(but we will still tailgate)

You what you are saying is that you need to get a few thousand more bandwagoners then???

Again, cat fans clouded by a couple of wins. The Griz now have a tradition of winning and football Saturday has become an event all its own. Unless you plan to make the empty seat the new bobcat mascot, you simply have no argument.

Hard to consider the large attendance at WA/GRIZ to be bandwagoners when we pay about 3 times as much for season tickets as cat fans do...you'd think it would be the other way around wouldn't you??? :D
