Although Wolf is a dink- I gotta agree with some of what he said.
IF YOU ARE A GRIZ FAN AND COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FIELD- PLEASE JUMP OFF THE BANDWAGON
1- Both teams were on the same field
2- Griz coaches failed to bring other shoes
3- Play calling sucked
4- Freshman QB
5- Kitties were better that day
Its time for Griz fans to grow up. If the kitties had lost and the kittie fans were posting the same crap about the field you would all be reeming them.

Didn't you ask Born to call you a jerk to your face?
Seems like he's trying to accommodate your request when he ask you to PM him, and that looks like it throws the "who has the gonads" question back to you, doesn't it?
And for the record...the field didn't matter. The Griz got beat by a better coached, better prepared, and better motivated team. The Cats deserved the win. It's that simple.

I gotta agree - if the Griz lost the game due to field conditions, shame on them - should have prepared for the field conditions better. Should have practiced in Bozeman instead of Butte, brought the right cleats (if that was indeed a problem), and changed schemes and play calling to take advantage of the conditions instead of being hurt by them. The field conditions might have impacted the game, but it is up to the coaches not to let it.Go Scats Go wrote:Although Wolf is a dink- I gotta agree with some of what he said.

That being said, time to move on - new game for the Griz this week, Bobby is still a young coach, and this will be one of the lesson he (hopefully) has learned along the way. By the time he gets to the age Don was when he took over the Griz I suspect he will know every trick in the book to not let field conditions affect him.

I thought we agreed with you as the New Griz OC - no more pictiures, live action models only?UMclassof2002 wrote:wbtfg wrote:Like Diane Beck?Re/Max Griz wrote:And seriously, if you do go house shopping in Missoula, I know a few agents who you'd LOVE to work with, PM me, I'll send ya a list.

Typical Wolfman Smallman response. Throw out some smack, and the shrink back when called on the carpet for it. You were the one who responsed, I was just giving you the chance to back it up.Wolfman wrote:I love these purported ex-jocks who are gonna beat me up. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
My point all along was that it was not the field conditions that beat the Griz. A team that was prepared to play and executed in the field condtions is what won the game. There are no excuses for Bobby and Co. not getting the team ready. The field was only a factor because the Griz let it be. I said it earlier, the score did not reflect the domination that occured.

Facing a game in very wet weather and on a very sloppy field one night in Missoula County Stadium, I asked Coach Eckegren which team the bad weather favored.
He responded with a line I'll never forget and one that is very true regarding the 2005 Cat/Griz game:
Coach Eck said "the weather always favors the better team...".

That's a good quote, and I agree that it's true with regard to this year's Cat/Griz game, but I'm not sure I agree that it's "always" true. You can't ignore the fact that there are teams that are built for speed and finesse, and there are teams that are built around power and strength, and the weather does affect teams with different styles of play differently. I agree that a great team needs to be able to win in any conditions, but that doesn't change the fact that the outcome of a particular game can be affected by field conditions. The obvious example is last year's Colts team -- they may or may not have had the goods to beat New England if they had played in their dome, but the fact that their playoff game was played in a blizzard in New England definitely had an effect on their offense; to argue otherwise is simply to ignore reality.El_Gato wrote:Coach Eck said "the weather always favors the better team...".

BornFree, your tough guy rhetoric is getting tired. Take another dose of estrogen. The only thing shrinking is between your legs, dudess.
You explanation on the field conditions is typical spin from sugar coaters. We (Griz) got our _sses handed to us in every phase of the game. These facts needn't be qualified by any mention of field condidtions.

Here's an article from the Great Falls Tribune that makes reference to that actually. It also has the UM trainer on there saying that the field in Chatty cost the Griz the National Championship.CelticCat wrote:Yup, WAGriz was never muddy once before they installed fake grass.UMclassof2002 wrote:All things being equal, why not just take good care of the field instead of letting it turn into a quagmire?

"Fact is, the field at Bobcat Stadium was a better playing surface Saturday than the one used at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula from 1986 until 2001. Each November and December, that turf would deteriorate into a muddy mess that was almost unplayable — especially for the visiting team."
From the article, last paragraph.

Once again, a typical AZ/Wolfie response. Can't come up with anything of meaning, so you resort to a comment about a person's groin area all the while missing the point that there are NO EXCUSES. We got DOMINATED. We let the field bother us, the Cats did not. If you can't acknowledge the fact that the Griz lost faith in thier coaches, and got beat in the mental game too then you are even dumber then I think you are when it comes to football.
Just stop calling people out, backing off and then resorting to comments about penis size and stick to the issues. We need to fire our OC at the very least and we need to hope the Bobby moves on. Krammer voted for Bobby as the Sky coach of the year because he doesn't want to see him go anywhere. Kramer wants Bobby around because he has his number.
