Good post.spider wrote:Your thought process is questionable. While some of the above are facts, they are not proof of an "overrated player". Lulay is neither a coach nor a pitcher, boxer, wrestler etc. The Bobcats' record is not attributed to him alone. The Montana State football team is not called the Lulays. If he played every position on the field, then he could credited with every win or loss.Go Scats Go wrote:I should have started this on the regular board, but kittie fans would only resort to throwing Smack. 4 Reasons Lulay is OVERRATED
#1 Career Overall Record
29 Wins 21 L's 58%
#2 Playoff games
2 Appearences 2 L's
#3 cats record
The year BEFORE Lulay the kitties were 5-6
With Lulay never had more then 7 wins
#4 Games against quality teams
His Senior year WvsUM But L's vs. Eastern, CalPoly and OSU. The rest of the teams on your schedule were not quality and yet Lulay lost to PSU!!!! The real reason the kitties did not make the playoffs!!!
These are facts kitties. Nothing I made up, nothing contrived, nothing overstated. If Lulay was your best QB ever. Your past QB's must have really SUCKED!!!! IE if Lulay had those stats as a Griz he would never have played after year 2!!!!
PS Its great you won 3 out of 4 against the Griz. How did you do against the Sac States of the world?
Is Kevin Garnett overrated? Is Koby Bryant overrated? No. Neither team plays well, but both players remain all-star calibre. Are both the leaders of their teams? Yes. Are the records of their teams pinned on Garnett and Bryant only? No.
How are the all-star teams selected in every major team sport in the United States? Is it by win/loss records? Or is it by statistics? How are Hall-of-Fame players selected? Team record? Here's the ringer......HOW ARE PLAYERS SELECTED FOR THE NFL COMBINE?
It is fine that you think that Lulay is overrated, but trying to prove it with those facts is comical. You make an awful argument.
Keep digging. I'm guessing that you won't be able to persuade many on this board no matter the facts you produce. Your argument is futile.
I see right through you Scats. Your sad obsession may require medical attention.

You can certainly make the argument that MSU as a team has been overrated the past four years, but to single out Lulay is just ludicrous. Might I suggest watching the tape of the 2003 NAU game or the 2005 Weber game? This is the single dumbest attempt at smack I've ever seen on this board, and that's saying something considering the drivel that gets posted here every day by Mr. Humbolt himself.

So what do you mean? Yes, Gato is the kind of bobcat fan who tires of incessant drivel spewed by people like yourself. Records and trophies alone do not make a man. Oh wait, they do in Grizland.Go Scats Go wrote:This is the kind of kittie fan Im talking about...

Nearly every other Griz fan that posts on here admires and respects Travis as a person and an athlete, and all that he accomplished as a Bobcat. YOU (and BearBac) are the exception to that norm. YOU have taken it upon yourself to try to discredit one of the best Student-Athlete ambassadors MSU has ever seen. YOU are the kind of Griz fan my handle alludes to.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Lets quickly tally the opinions....
Bobby Hauck-compliments the great run Lulay has had as MSU QB and calls him a class act
eGrizzers-all glad Lulay is gone because now they feel they have a chance to "right the ship"
One of the top yardage gainers in IAA history (more than the beloved Dickenson, Ah-Yaht, et al)
Scats-Lulay is overrated
I think we can all see who's opinion is overrated

Sac State twice
PSU
The great ones never lose to the crappy teams, yet Lulay did.

I think this quote from Billy Madison sums it up for our challenged Lulay bashers! Replace Mr. Madison with the offenders names of course.
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Lulay played in 50 games
Dickenson only 2 1/2 years
and they both ended up near 11,000 total yards
And without checking I bet you Ah-Yaht averaged far better then 200 yards passing a game, that Lulu did.
So yet another proof that Lulay is OVERRATED
