I'm sure you didn't really mean to liable these gentlemen.catamaran wrote:Guess we should hire Dennison and Edwards to cook our books
The Griz program blossomed by virtue of excellent coaches, scouting and players; big and small donors; rabid fans; success and hype. It takes all of that. You guys just wish and complain.
In the end the joke's always going to be on you, 'cause you have to live with the results.

And the prelude to the big blossom? A Denny Washington sized $ bolus that helped turn you average griz fans into rabid fans right?MaZooLaGriz wrote:I'm sure you didn't really mean to liable these gentlemen.catamaran wrote:Guess we should hire Dennison and Edwards to cook our books

As for the results, why don't you just admit that the Cats are turning the corner and that the dominance you guys became accustomed to (and also the time when many people like you probably and conveniently became fans) isn't near what it used to be?
Such idiotic hubris you demonstrate always ends with the joke being on people like you.

The Cats have come a long way, but I think I'm going to wait until the Griz are more than one season removed from their last national title game appearance before I start admitting that our program has gone to the dogs.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:As for the results, why don't you just admit that the Cats are turning the corner and that the dominance you guys became accustomed to (and also the time when many people like you probably and conveniently became fans) isn't near what it used to be?

Agreed, but I know you're smart enough to understand that I never said the program has or is going to the dogs.Grizlaw wrote:The Cats have come a long way, but I think I'm going to wait until the Griz are more than one season removed from their last national title game appearance before I start admitting that our program has gone to the dogs.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:As for the results, why don't you just admit that the Cats are turning the corner and that the dominance you guys became accustomed to (and also the time when many people like you probably and conveniently became fans) isn't near what it used to be?

Sorry to hear you're frustrated about our program, but if you can't see that the Bobcats are a program on the rise, then you're not paying attention. Speaking of talk, talk, talk - frankly I'm getting a little sick of hearing about how good the Griz are GOING TO BE in 2006. Given what I saw out of Bobby and co. last season, now that he has a good # of his own recruits in the program, I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I'm concerned, the Griz are sitting a 2 game losing streak, will be 3 after the opener. I'll believe that they have made it back to being a 1-AA power when I see it...MaZooLaGriz wrote:Well that was very nice of you, Sc@. I'd like to reciprocate and say it would be nice to bump into you guys there, too. But it's not likely. Hey, this IS the Smack board.catsrback76 wrote:Hope to see you THERE!
It really would really be nice if we had two premier Montana teams. Well, three counting the Saints. And, two premier facilities. I'm frustrated by all the talk, talk, talk over the last many years about how you guys intend to fix this, expand that, but hardly anything happens.
Maybe it would be good if we did go to 1-A, so we could root for each other in good conscience?

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

No, you didn't say that. Fair enough...lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Agreed, but I know you're smart enough to understand that I never said the program has or is going to the dogs.
You must admit, though, that many Cat fans are pretty quick to jump on that wagon, though (even if you may not be). Every time the Griz lose a game, or get played tough by a team they "should" be able to beat, we get to read all the comments from Cat fans about how the Griz program is "slipping," and how we're not as good as we used to be.
All I'm saying is, gimme a break. Yeah, our team wasn't as good last year as they have been, but we're still only one year removed from a title game appearance, and 8-3 is still the worst regular season record we've had since sometime in the 80's. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think we've slipped that much...

I agree with everything you said and, yes, there are some Cat fans that say things are going down the toilet for the griz at the slightest bit of a loss or a subpar season.Grizlaw wrote:No, you didn't say that. On the other hand, we have a few useful idiots on here who talk about how 7-4 or 7-5 is mediocre or really poor. Like the griz being only a little over a year removed from a title game appearance, the Cats aren't too far out of the realm of that 0-11 season. Though the concepts are different, the comparison is similar. What we view as major improvement over the last 5 or so years, some griz fans think that the performances or the lack of playoff appearance continuity is something they should feed off of. Just my 0.02.

Not really. The move to create the stadium was well in motion before Denny. But what if he did start it? You guys don't have any rich folk over there?lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:And the prelude to the big blossom? A Denny Washington sized $ bolus that helped turn you average griz fans into rabid fans right?
It's certainly true that we went into a dive for a couple years. But it's pretty well accepted - even by most Sc@ fans who post on your "Bobcat Athletics" board - that this will probably be a very good year for the Griz.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:just admit that the Cats are turning the corner and that the dominance you guys became accustomed to

Hey, your Athletic Dept is running it's own little Debt Shop there. It's just that that doesn't get statewide publicity. In fact, I'll wager UM'd debt is paid off before MSU's.catamaran wrote:Guess we should hire Dennison and Edwards to cook our books for a few years so we can pay the committee too

Are you hinting that I can't talk smack?CelticCat wrote:You are like me GrizLaw. We don't take smack real well and we (at least myself) do not dish it very well either. Actually, I used to be better at this when I was younger (particularly when I played high school sports). I think age (and law school) ruined my smack-talking skills; now I over-analyze everything instead of just insulting people (or teams). *sigh* Oh well...

Why on Earth would we wish anything like that on each other's school? Shame.CARDIAC_CATS wrote:remember some of their space grant money myseriously disappeared? I hope that audit turns people's heads.
As some of yours do, also. Hey, it's fun. And besides, how are you guys going to "smack" yourselves (any more than you do during the season)?catamaran wrote:or spending more time on the rivals board than you do your own team's
