First, altho MSU beat EWU & UM didn't, MSU's blowout convinced me MSU would be a power to reckon with in the BSC & I was not (& am not) surprised to see MSU ranked ahead of UM. It has happened before. I thought, "Well, we'll see." I know UM has some growing pains & it looked like MSU's game was finally coming together with Ash's decision to go with McGhee, because it seemed to me that MSU's recent problems were due to their QBs. So, I got interested in the Cats, being the other MT school.
Then, came the SacSt game & I went, "What the hell?" If the Cats had beat the Hornets 64-50 or 64-45, or whatever, I'd have gone, "MSU will be the clear champion of the BSC this year." How can your D hold an EWU to only 7 points, yet turn around & allow SacSt 61 points? You guys have to be concerned about that. I have to say that SacSt is not the team of last year. I've already said it will finish much higher in the BSC than predicted.
I imagine, just considering final scores in the 4 games (the Griz & EWU, the Griz & SacSt, MSU & EWU, MSU & SacSt) that UM & MSU this year are pretty evenly matched up. I expect the Griz/Cat game to be a determiner of the BSC championship, with the Griz winning, of course. As the season goes, the Griz are gelling more & will be at full stride for the game. The Cats, I don't know. Will the inconsistency of the past since Kramer still plague today's Cats?
