Having just returned to the state of Montana and being a longtime football fan, I was frustrated to hear some of the comments at this gatheing. Since there team got the s*&^ kicked out of them yesterday, they comment that they hope Sam Houston beats the crap out of the Griz. I don't get their perspective. Montana Fans shoud be pulling for a Montana team that is still in the tournament. Don't be so bitter and close minded. There are More Montana kids on the Griz than Sam Houston. You want to root for Sam Houston, Move your butt to Texas. OH yea, The Cats have probably the 2nd best Bowl Championship facility in the Country and obviously the 2nd best college football team in the state Of Montana.
You know, I agree with what you say. I have to say that I have the utmost respect for Phlugrad. (Did I spell it right??) He is absolutely a class act. The former UM coach was a classless, arrogant jerk, no other way to say it.
But here is my problem. It is very difficult to pull for the Griz given the treatment I have been subjectedo several times in Bobcat Stadium. I've never been to Missoula, and can only imagine what that is like. I'm sure that Bobcat fans have done the same thing. But this year, I had some Griz fans right behind me who were so obnoxious, I had to simply say a prayer to myself to keep from turning around and smashing the guy's teeth in.
I am all about class and sportsmanship. I like to win AND lose with class. All I know is, if I attended a game in Missoula and I was sitting in the Griz section, I would certainly cheer for the Bobcats, but I would NOT try my best to behave like jerks. The Griz have enough fans, they don't need me as well to pull for them.
