I guess 3 out of 4 dosent sound all that good anymore kittens!
Nuff said. This was a schoolin', gentleman. You can pick up your "also ran" trophies at the door.
yeah, we really got schooled over the internet.

This validation each of you need tells me that things must really be pathetic in your real lives.
Its not validation of how pathetic our lives are it's validation of how sorry MSU athletics are..

Its nice to look at the real facts of this rivalry: I guess you can still call it that. And put your kittie butts in place.

Dream on Kitties- some day you might come close to that list- but I doubt it.
You keep telling yourself that Scats.

Your existence seems to considerably depend on the performance of um athletics.

Regardless of the sport, MSU has held their own just fine.

Take note of your stats that you posted above. Outside of the all time series record in football, do you realize that that history doesn't extend to much more than 15-20 years. I have to say that it is impressive in such a short amount. To me, it also says that there's a good chance you weren't much of a jizz fan prior to any of that history that was made.

Look at the brightside, at least the griz have had some success in sports in recent years. At least there's something in your life that really makes you tread on.
How do kitties live with themseves when they are ALWAYS wrong.
OK you want some more

Which team won a NCAA BBAll playoff game in 1975?
Which BB team played the John Woodens UCLA squad in 1975 to a 3 point game?
Which football team has played in 3 Bowl games?
Which school had a BB player drafted #4 (not 4th round- but fourth pick)?
Which school had a head BBall coach that went on to coach Magic Johnson to a NCAA title?
Which School played football in the PAC-10?
Which school has had 89 Football players play in Professional football?
AND Finally Which School has ARCHIE BUNKER?
Oh so compelling.

The Archie Bunker aspect was the kicker.

Ever heard of the Golden Bobcats? When you have, get back to me since we're talking about national titles and all.

Oh yeah, who's the MSU standout that's in the NFL hall of fame?

The coach of Purdue....what's his alma mater?

Tell me about Dennis Erickson's success in the NFL and college.

That jizz team that played Wooden's team in 1975? Did they still lose?

Had the football team played for a national title in the 50's, 60's 70's or 80's? To answer that question, you'll have to ask someone who was actually a fan during those years.

With such an amazing history why isn't this team/university you speak of still in the Pac 10?

I mean, after all, pulling random facts about famous players/coaches who represented certain universities is fun isn't it?

I bet you thought that only um had any well known athletes associated with it right?

My only smack towards the cats in regards to football is that you guys won three out of four...ok...kudos...still 0-2 in the playoffs...Now lets look at the last three griz wins over the cats...All National Championship appearances...Seriously if you guys want to sting the Griz (and I mean really sting them) you are going to have to make some playoff noise...If Lulay was as good as they say I wouldn't hold my breath this year...But what do I know...I am sitting at home during spring break alone  (stupid ass job!)

This started off as a football post and has slowly evolved into Mens BB thanks to griz fans. The mens BB team has one good showing and now all of die-hard football fans have become die-hard BB fans. After we start dominating in basketball they will move on to swimming, tennis, rodeo, soccer, etc... Don't change the subject. The point is 16-6. No matter how good that felt to win the first round of the NCAA's it doesn't make the loss in November any easier to swallow.

Bobcats best football team in Montana. Right!

To answer part of your question, the Griz did play for the national championship in both 1969 and 1970, but lost both games to North Dakota State. The comparison: 7 championship games for the Griz in the last 37 years, and 3 for the Cats in the last 50 years. The Cat football team had a 30 year run from about 1955 to 1985, distinguished by 3 championship runs. Their history prior to 55 and after 85 has nothing to distinguish it, except for 3 out of the last 4.

Damn your an idiot. So your saying you Camelia Bowl appearances count as National Championship appearances but ours don't.

Actually using Griz logic we have 4 National Championships.

You're right. I'm not up on my Cat history. You won it in 66 and lost it in 64. Question: The Camelia Bowl was touted as the small college championship game. Why do the Cat's claim the Aluminum Bowl as a championship and not the Camelia Bowl?

BTW-that's twice you've made it personal in your response. I have the impression you don't like me.

The NAIA declared us the National Champions after the Aluminum Bowl. Apparently this was never done with the winner of the Camelia Bowls.

Wasn't the team you tied ALSO declared the winner?
As far as I know No they weren't. We were because of our overall record.

Things seemed a little F up'd back in the olden day. Don't forget the other 2 teams that went unbeaten and didn't get a chance to play.

Would it be possible to go two weeks without having this same conversation about national championships and games played back when my parents were infants? It gets tiring.

Let's make it simple for everyone and just think about the last two weeks of November, 2005.

November 19 - Cats dominate, Griz look like little girls, I set a personal beer shotgunning record.

November 26 - Griz follow up their pathetic showing in Bozeman with an equally lame performance in Missoula, but I'm sure Griz fans' feelings weren't hurt quite as badly as they were by those rude rivals a week ago. Cats eat turkey with their families while I-AA football fans around the nation marvel at the ridiculous representation of the Big Sky.

To save you the time...Griz spank the Cats around the hardwood all winter and win an NCAA tourney game. Congrats, but I don't care!
