Its actually MSU 3-2 UNC 1-4 but don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument
Let's be fair here. If the Griz go 10-1 with their only loss being to the cats, then go on to win the NC, every single MSU fan will still claim that they're the best team in the state. Please don't try to deny this.
Wrong. Very, very wrong.
Please. Every time a Griz fan tries to use the "well, at least we made the playoffs" argument, the immediate response from Cat fans is "3 out of 4, we kicked your asses", etc etc.
If you guys with the NC and we don't make the playoffs and beat you, I highly doubt any rational Cat fans are going to say we are the better team. It will still be a fact that we won, but that does not necessarily mean MSU would be the better team than UM. Use your head.

Bobcat fans are using the kicker as a scapegoat for the loss. They ignore the fact that their defense got carved up by a bad quarterback and their offense turned the ball over 5 times. Here are some stats:

Breazeale's passer rating first 8 games: 95.11
Breazeale's rating against Montana St.:137.56

Bears season pass YPG: 153.8
Pass Yards vs Montana St.: 266

Bears season turnover margin: -2
Turnover margin vs Montana St.: +3

I'm guessing our coaches saw a weakness in film and exploited it.

Do you really think you're going to convince us Cat fans that our team is no good? Use all the stats you want. We stand behind our team and always will. Go to the Bear board if you want to pat yourselves on the back.

And you have no arguments of the same context at all, right? BS.
When was the last time the Cats made the playoffs and the Griz didn't? I doubt I was even born yet, so how could I have made that argument?
I wasn't talking about playoffs as an argument. Every single dumbass griz reply is "griz envy" or "22 out of 25" or whatever the eff it is. Don't act stupid.
It's very true. If the Griz lost to the Cats and still won the NC MSU fans would some how try to cliam that they are the real national champions.

Some probably would to a degree. And I and many other rational Cat fans would be some of the first to tell them they are idiots. Every team has fans that just like to talk smack to hear themselves and try to make themselves feel better, even the Griz, so this whole argument is pretty pointless.

You would call the Cats performance in the last four games "good"? You squeaked by a winless SUU team, got blown out by EWU, needed 17 4th quarter points to beat 1-win Sac St., and lost to winless UNC. You guys should stand behind your team, like we on the Bear board stand behind ours. But I also believe you need to call your team out when on field performance is less than satisfactory, like we on the Bear board also do.
My previous post was simply stating the fact that on October 27, 2007, the Bears outplayed the Cats, simple as that. I meant no disrespect to you or your program.

I was there and so were those on the UNC board that could feasibly get there. Some folks around here are fair weather fans, but you'll get that pretty much anywhere.

Nothing personal against the guy. Could just hear him on EVERY play. Was kind of funny at first -then got annoying. It's all good.

Normally, I try to stay away from too much smack, but this has gotten absolutely ridiculous. Being 2-1 historically against a team is all that matters? Probably one of the most mentally stunted things I've ever read on this board. Hypothetically, let's say that 2 teams had never met before 2006. In 2006, those 2 teams became members of the same conference/division. In 2006 and 2007, Team A beats Team B. For those 2 years, Team A has a total record of 2-20 and Team B has a total record of 28-2 and wins 2 National Championships.

(For someone math challenged, I'll help. Team B played 30 games to Team A's 22 games because they had 8 total playoff games in that 2 year span.)

Based on the scenario above, you'd say that Team A is better than Team B because they have a 2-0 record against them? Even though it's the only 2 games that Team A won in 2 years and the only 2 games that Team B lost over the same period. Your logic is impressive...

Now, I know this entire scenario is extreme, and not even close to the reality of MSU and UNC's positions over the past 2 years (well, except for Team A being terrible...), but it's just an extension of your initial argument that the only thing that matters is head-to-head.

I wonder if the Red Sox know that the Yankees actually had a better year than them, since the Yankees won the head-to-head season series (since that's all that matters)...
