Can somebody post a collection article or clips from articles that quote Hauck making classless statements? If we have them all in one place, at least then there is a starting point for a discussion as to his character and behavior as a head coach (and it would be a great resource to refer to for everybody going forward). It seems like it would be nice to sort the hearsay from the hard facts, which will probably cut the Cat v. Griz name-calling down by a huge factor in the process.
As it is, it appears we mostly just have two groups of people yelling at each other over whether something was said or not, or whether a guy is classy or unclassy, and that's never going to solve much.

I hate to say it, but it is pretty entertaining reading the responses to this article. Many of you feel that Mr. Welsch took it easy on me, and that is certainly your right. I, for one, appreciate his professionalism and refusal to decend into the inciteful, sensationalistic garbage that all too often passes for "journalism" these days. If someone from the Missoulian interviews Coach Kramer, I would hope that the same courtesy be extended.
Looking forward to the upcoming season!
P.S. - Beavis, huh? That's funny, I don't care who you are! It does beg the question: Who's Butthead?

I'm not criticizing the name calling or suggesting that anyone stop doing it -- I just assumed that most people on this thread are more interested in convincing others of the truth as opposed to this just being a smack thread born out of smack for the sake of smack. Having a good central source of documentation (a good project for somebody who's passionate about the topic), would be a nice resource.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:With all due respect, it's in the proper forum.....Bay Area Cat wrote:One thing that I have noticed about many of the stories about Hauck is that I often have bad trouble finding good documenation to support them, and from browsing the thread above (very lightly), it appears that we are running into the same issue. I'm not sure so Hauck would necessarily appreciate a rumor floating around that he was posting on our website nor that words were being put into his mouth. We also try to discourage people from creating new usernames for smack talk. In this case, though, where it was plausible that the person being impersonated might actually have posted, it was best to make sure there was no misunderstanding as to who actually wrote the post.UMclassof2002 wrote:Bay Area Cat wrote:And just in case anyone is wondering, this post happened to come from the same IP address as the one used by UMClassof2002.Bobby Hauck wrote:I hate to say it, but it is pretty entertaining reading the responses to this article. Anyone who takes the information contained on these or any other internet message board smack forum pages seriously is a moron and deserves to be misinformed.
And, yes, I'm talking to you Hells.

It was not I. First, I was raised to be honest and truthful. Just like Coach Hauck. Second, that's not my picture. It looks like Coach Hauck, doesn't it? Third, I could NEVER be that brief. Fourth, if I were to immitate Coach Hauck, I would have had some genuflections, hosannahs to the 'Cats, and some specific mention of "Montana State" and "Bobcats" just to put an end to all the psychosis, angst and inadequacy that fills 'Catville. BTW, I'd also like to see whatever honest-to-goodness documentation anyone can come up with constituting first-person evidence of the "classlessness" of Coach Hauck, as BayArea suggests. There's no "there" there. Mostly and probably some good-natured ribbing that overly-sensitive 'Cat fans took too seriously. A person's reputation is the most important thing she or he has. It's too important, CelticCat, to be trashed on the basis of "rumor" or "stories" or things "many people" supposedly said, "true or not", CelticCat.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Clever GFGrizBobby Hauck wrote:I hate to say it, but it is pretty entertaining reading the responses to this article. Perhaps someone will find something. It's still early in the day. Personally, I don't know if you'll find anything verbatim. All I know was his "State" comment and how, in so many words, MSU really didn't deserve to have the term Montana used when saying the team's name in its entirety. Regardless of his school affiliation, comments like that are rude and classless to any person who has ever been affiliated with Montana State. Anything else he has ever said it just smoke and mirrors in my opinion. On the sports side of things, I'm quite interested to see how his recruits over the past few years pan out. He recruited some great athletes at UW, but attrition and injuries hurt the football program there not to mention a head coach at that time who was promoting his own self-serving agenda.GFGriz wrote:lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Clever GFGrizBobby Hauck wrote:I hate to say it, but it is pretty entertaining reading the responses to this article. You're right about brevity. Do you really think that Cat posters would assume that Beavis himself was posting? Ggood for your parents to raise you as described above, but you're still quite condescending in your discourse and you really need to cut the ****** out regarding your almost self-imposed title of being the mediator on who has class and who doesn't.
Ahhh, and look who continues to post here. Psychosis, angst, and inadequacy directed towards others is often a sign that it represents the finger pointer to begin with. Chew on that for awhile.......Fourth, if I were to immitate Coach Hauck, I would have had some genuflections, hosannahs to the 'Cats, and some specific mention of "Montana State" and "Bobcats" just to put an end to all the psychosis, angst and inadequacy that fills 'Catville.

Maybe it was initially good-natured ribbing but the oversensitivity aspect doesn't just describe Cat fans. You're certainly beyond delusional if you think that.

I'd want first-hand documentation about the "State" comment and the use of "Montana" comment (whatever those were). Coach Hauck has been here only 2 years, so direct evidence (not "rumors", not "stories", not stuff CelticCat heard from "many people") should be available if there is anything out there. Even if there was substantive evidence of both, and if that is all that could be proven about Hauck, then it would certainly be oversensitivity on the part of the 'Cat fans.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:GFGriz wrote:lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Clever GFGrizBobby Hauck wrote:I hate to say it, but it is pretty entertaining reading the responses to this article. WOW
(note the little shocked dude)
I leave for a day and this thing blows up! This thread should go into the smack forum hall of fame.
GFGriz: JUST SHUT UP MAN! You are beating a dead horse here. Save your psychoanalysis for your clients, and for someone who cares.
Back to the topic, I too thought it was a weak attempt at an interview. The first time I saw Hack in an interview on the news, I knew he was the snake-in-the-grass type of person. You know, the double talk type - say anything to please anyone. He also came across as being very condescending (which he later proved true with his "state" comment). Eastcoastgriz, he is a phony; as phony as a used car salesman. There. I said it. HA!
Was going to say more stuff, but lost interest/forgot - BBL if I think of anything more...
