Hey it wasn't the Griz fault Corey got by them. There was snow on the field and Hauck had told the kicker to kick it away from CoreySTREETCAT wrote:hMM PHOTO SNAPPED RIGHT BE FOR 84 COREY SMITH TOOK THE OPENING KICKOFF TO THE HOUSE HUH!Billings_Griz wrote:Not really smack, but funny.![]()

Or my personal favorite griz fan excuse, "the equipment manager brought the wrong cleats" - circa 2005 cat/grizCARDIAC_CATS wrote:Hey it wasn't the Griz fault Corey got by them. You can order season highlight videos for last year from the same company that made The Line, so yeah if you want something more current it's there.STREETCAT wrote:Looks like that was produced back in 2003?? Kane Ione and Adam Cadero?
We dont have any thing more current?
The Line was way more than a highlight video though, it was a series they produced to focus on the behind the scenes type life of college football at the I-AA level. What the players have to deal with, what the coaches have to deal with, what the college football atmosphere is like at the smaller school level. It was very professionally done and was featured weekly on the regional Fox Sports network. While us Cat fans love it because it features our team, nobody should confuse this series as just a Cat highlight video, because it was way more than that.

It may seem outdated in the sense of the game footage they show, but the majority of the episodes really show the "behind the scenes" of smaller college football. One of the great stories is about Clive Lowe and his background growing up. Very inspirational. It's very well produced and edited and worth the price. Especially Attebury's call of the Cat/Griz game.STREETCAT wrote:Looks like that was produced back in 2003?? Kane Ione and Adam Cadero?

"The Line" was fantastic....I watch it every year about this time to help me get fired up for the upcoming season. I cannot fathom why MSU has not marketed it more aggressively however, as I know many diehard Bobcat fans who have never heard of it. I guarantee you that if this series had been about UM instead of MSU, you would be tripping over copies of it everywhere you went. It would seem to me to be a great recruiting tool, and MSU should have handed out copies of it like it was candy. I loaned my copy to one of my former sales managers, who had played college football for Texas State. He commented to me that after having watched it, if his son one day grew up to be a I-AA (sorry....I just can't get behind the FCS/FBS terminology) caliber player, he would want him to play for MSU. It created such a positive impression of MSU football, even though it was produced during the 2003 season, which was the year of the Joe O'Brien situation. In fact, that was the primary theme of one of the weekly episodes. Maybe that is why MSU has not promoted it more...because they don't want to remind people of that incident? If so, that would be a shame, because the positive images created by this series out weigh this one negative image by about 1,000 to 1. That is the way that I felt about Coach Kramer as well, but I guess that topic has been beaten to death....

Well I ordered it a couple days ago. To be honest I don't care if the team being profiled is West Texas A&M it's just good to watch a documentary/reality show about college football, especially in the smaller leagues. I look forward to watching it and i'll report back to you guys how I find it as a Griz fan. As much as I dislike the Cats it will also be interesting seeing some behind the scenes of Montana collegiate football, the Big Sky Conf, FCS in general. Also if you get a chance read "The Sweet Season" by Austin Murphy (he writes for SI) - it's a year in the life of the St. John's football team in Minnesota (Division III), I think it's around 99. It's a great read and reminds me alot of what it was like growing up in a small town, cheering for a small high school, or even cheering for the Griz (which is smaller in the overall college football/NFL world).

I'm glas you ordered it, Nick. If you are a fan of fooball, you can't NOT like The Line. I got mine last summer at UAS in Bozeman (they had to search a while to find a copyNick wrote:Well I ordered it a couple days ago. It also made me realize how much I am really going to miss Chris Atterbury - what a class act.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
