worst loss ever?

Post by mslacatfan » Sat Oct 27, 2007 10:06 pm

Is this the worst loss ever for the Cats? I know there has been some bad ones, chadron state, DII schools, etc.... Obviously todays showing was completey pathetic in every aspect of the game. I would say give credit to Northern Colarado... but I can't, I mean they really suck, and they beat us. Probably the most dissapointing thing to me is that our team really just didnt seam to give a sh*t all day. (besides crawford)

Worst loss I've seen. Granted I really did start watching till about 2001, just a few games before Lulay came in. I agree, I would like to say NoCo beat us, but I've never seen a team shoot themselves in the foot so many times. They didn't just shoot themselves in the foot, they took a shotgun to it, dropped a grenade on it and napalmed it.

I think it is. I think in the last 8 seasons, the Humbolt State loss was the worst, but this beats that out because we don't have a bunch of freshmen and sophs playing.

At least Central Washington, Chadron and Davis were very good teams.

Suddenly, the Cats aren't even the second best team in the State.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

We lost to NAIA (at the time) Mesa State 41-10 in 1988. That was under Solomonson. Can you believe he coached here for 5 years? In 13 years we went 56-91 and only made one coaching change.

But this is worse, because we are loaded with talent and because probably ends our season. Probably? I'm probably in denial. Anyway, for this group of players to lose to UNC is absolutely unacceptable. You can make a real strong case that UNC is the worst team in the FCS coming into the game. The Cent. Washington and Chadron teams were much better than UNC.

We are just lucky that Helena Capital is not on the schedule.

I agree, the Mesa State loss was horrific. I also remember feeling like we got totally dismantled by UC Davis. We weren't even close in that game. Today's game was bad because I had such high expectations. At least heading into the Mesa State game, there was a good chance we wouldn't win it.

why the f*ck do we have such a hard time with piece of sh*t teams!? today im truly ashamed to be a bobcat fan.... But mark my words, the griz beating them 54-3 or whatever wont change a thing, the cats will play the griz... just like last year, lose to chadron and almost beat the griz. but days like today is what makes it so damn difficult to be a cat fan.

Is this team really LOADED with talent!! I don't think so. We have some good talent but a lot of glaring weaknesses and thin spots when it comes to depth. Did we play lousy today--YES. But we had many, many opportunities to blow this team away and we couldn't do it because of dropped balls, fumbles, penalties, etc. The game plan was sound--but today we didn't execute. Under Kramer we had just as talented of teams that did the same thing. Kramer was a very good coach but lost a lot of the games we should have won. Next year if this happens again then I would be concerned--but let's give this staff a chance!!

I just wonder

Post by Cats Back » Sun Oct 28, 2007 6:32 am

I just wonder if this feeling we all have is the same kind of feeling Michigan fans had after they played Appy State at the beginning of the season? I think this loss is about the same magnitude as Michigan's loss.
oh well it is time to get ready for a very good NAU team.

I am not putting all the blame on coaches for the loss, but does anybody else thing that the gameplan is getting pretty predictable, It is looking pretty much the same from week to week.

Are we trying to say that Carrol is better than us? I get tired of hearing that, it's ridiculous.

Is it? Let's schedule them if we can guarantee a win  After all, it shouldn't hurt our overall strength of schedule rankings, right? We're ensured a win against a team that won 4 consecutive National Championships, is currently 9-0 and ranked second in the nation. So, what are we afraid of? Oh yeah, that we might play "down" to their level and get thumped. My bad.

Seems about right.

Well, one never knows of course - that's what makes it a great game. But, while our fears seem to be dissolving with each game, yours seem to be growing. Doesn't bode well I think for Griz/Cat '07.
