Schweitzer a frontrunner

I saw our esteemed governor (an MSU grad) wearing a Griz coat on the sidelines at today's game. Now, if he wants to come to one of our playoff games and support the state while the cats are sitting at home, that's fine. But when his alma mater are fighting for their playoffs lives in Bozeman, why on earth is he at a Griz game?

He's supporting anyone in Montana. Why would he show up in Missoula with a Bobcat fan. You guys are too touchy.

There was a game in Bozeman he could have easily attended. Last time I checked, it's a shorter drive from Helena to Bozeman than to Missoula.

He was probably at the Griz game because of a schedule his staff put together for him about 4 or 5 months ago

And the last 2 times I've seen him at Cat games, he was wearing a jean jacket, not a CAT jacket. No need to completely sell out your loyalty for a few votes. Sheesh. Politicians make me ill.

schweitzer is a true politician and goes where the votes are. the griz are a hot commodity = lots more bandwagon fans, so from a strategy standpoint he must be a griz fan (see guillani wearing a boston hat).
who cares really.....

Frontrunner in what?
Schweitzer is a notorious media whore. I am amazed that you are trying to smack the Cats with it.

Well, Baucus was at the MSU game ... so what's that mean? Nothing? Exactly.
If I was a pol, I would also be sure to outwardly cheer for all of the state's teams ... only an idiot would not do so.
Their loyalty is to the state (as it should be) and not to one particular school.

First of all, I'm not smacking the cats, I'm smacking Schweitzer, I just figured this would end up here. Second, it's fine if wants to support the state of Montana, but wouldn't it make more sense for him to support his alma mater first, and their hated rivals second?

Well I know he's been to at least a few Cat games, not that I really care, but I guess I dont see your point. Do you really expect a political media whore to stay away from any gathering of people where ever they are. Other politicians do the same, I just dont understand what you are trying to get at with this thread.

Cat and griz stuff aside . . . you obviously don't know much about politics...

I know that Missoula is solidly democratic, so I don't think he was whoring for votes.

Does the title not give it away? He bailed on his team and decided to support the Griz instead.

So now we can add liar to the list of what you are.
Go back to my first post on this thread and start over.

Again, why would he need to get on the good side of Missoulians? It's a largely democratic city, it would make more sense to support the team in Bozeman if he's trying to earn votes.

a. all are griz fans in Missoula?
b. would you vote for a candidate who alienates a sector?
c. do you think Montanans vote soley on party lines (if so, why did we go from an Republican to Democrat)?
again (not that i'm an expert), you either are very naive on politics or your little smack attempt at Cats back fired.

This wasn't an attempt to smack the Cats, it was an attempt to smack Schweitzer for being a front runner, regardless of motivation. It doesn't have anything to do with the Cats, but like I said, I figured it would end up here anyway.
