Griz in 08

Griz record in 2008 8-3 at best more than likely 7-4. They will miss the playoffs for the first time in years and blame the NCAA for not living up to their end of the "deal"
Other prediction for the Griz in 2008: 1) UM president announces that the University will accept any and all transfers, football players included(no backgrounds checks necessary)
2) CBS hires the Griz radio announcers to do the t.v. play-by-play. No word on whether more people turn off their t.v's or turn off their radio.
3) UM and Carroll flip-flop coaches.
4) UM adds another 3,000 seats, no takers on the seats yet.
5) Griz apparel starts appearing at garage sales and homeless shelters.

That's a broken record

Because MSU would never do that
2) CBS hires the Griz radio announcers to do the t.v. play-by-play. No word on whether more people turn off their t.v's or turn off their radio.
I'd listen to the radio if it was just Mick
3) UM and Carroll flip-flop coaches.
I wish!
4) UM adds another 3,000 seats, no takers on the seats yet.
Don't bet on it
5) Griz apparel starts appearing at garage sales and homeless shelters.
Even low income people have some taste

And 99% of bobcat fans wish they had this problem. Someday if you guys keep trying you too will have a 7-4 season you can be proud of!

Gonna be pretty tough to go 8-3 or 7-4 with a 12 game schedule.
9-3 or 10-2, that's my guess.

My prediction:
Griz will be the first team ever to play all their games at home (played 8 home and 4 road games in 07) in 2008. They will "buy" out all the BSC road games and play them all at the "Death Star". Keep adding seats to that place - it will look really cool when the team goes .500 some year and all the bandwagon riders start jumping off. That will be one big, empty, quiet stadium.

Except our schedule is just about finalized:
Western States of Colorado vs UM
UM @ Cal Poly
Cal Davis @ UM
SUU @ UM
<conf play>
@ UNC
@ Weber
@ EWU
@ PSU
vs MSU
vs ISU
vs NAU
vs Sac

You should be much more concerned about the 50% of cat fans who are bandwagon fans.

And we can speculate that , oh, say 75% of griz fans are bandwagon. You could have a lot to be concerned about was well.

That's actually a respectable schedule minus the Western States of CO creampuff. SUU will be a challenge next year and US Davis should be good. Cal Poly will no doubt be tough, especially at their place. Is that the deal where you agreed to play them at home if they agreed to play you at home in 09 and 10?

Gee I think 7-4 recored might have to many wins based on this schedule. I can see MSU, EWU, PSU beating them in conference next year and I can see Cal Poly and Davis beating them in the preseason. Now wonder Hauck wants out of Missoula. He sees the writing on the wall.

MSU won't beat us, come on.
You guys only beat us 4 or 5 times out of 50.
PSU and EWU will be tough on the road. Other than that we will have no problem as long as we get a good FG kicker.

Uh oh, looks like Alpha doesn't know the official Griz fan way to talk about the Cat/Griz record.

Come on, you either go back ~20 years so it's lopsided by the streak or you go all the way back for 100+ years so it is lopsided by when UM played a division above MSU, you know that. Now, if you
want to go back around 50-60 years (i.e. essentially modern era of football with UM and MSU playing at same level for most of the time), I think you'll find a pretty even rivalry even despite a recent long losing streak by one side.

Actually, what you say is only true if you go back 50 years, not 60. Some quick research tells me that the series record over the last 50 years is 26-24 in favor of the Griz. That takes us back to 1957. The Cats won in 1956 as well (their first championship year); however, if you go back any further than 1956, you get into another long period of Griz dominance (8 straight wins, an 18-2 record over the prior 20 years, etc.)
But you're right, Alpha definitely needs to work on his selective fractioning.
