Hauck noted that taking FBS transfers has become more problematic. The season took another ominous turn when Coleman and defensive end Mike Shelton were arrested as they got off the bus returning from the Idaho State game on burglary, assault and kidnapping charges.

Coleman, Shelton and another former player involved, Qwenton Freeman, transferred in from Bowl Subdivision programs (Iowa State and Arizona).

Yes, the deeply religious Craig Ochs is fine, but to mention him in the same breath as Brent Russum, who is Ochs polar opposite is just a little weird.

Yes, he's been a good boy in Missoula. However, that Hauck could mention him instead of some other player that didn't have the off-field issues that Russum had is a little odd. Isn't there someone else he could've mentioned? If this is a great comment from Hauck you obviously have some pretty low expectations of him.

I'm just glad you posted that. They're great words for some great players. Thank you. Rassum's been great, Ochs is always great as a player/coach. Just a class act that Bobby Hauck.

Is there any thing Bobby could say about our current players, the bobcats, your coach, msu that you wouldn't be critical of??

No, I didn’t think so.

How any Bobcat or Griz fan could, at this time, be attempting to talk smack against the other team for its off the field issues in the football program is, quite frankly, far beyond my level of comprehension!

I don't think anyone is talking smack about off-field problems. I'm talking smack about Hauck. Here's a guy who brought in at least four players with off-field issues and has had some get in further trouble on his watch, then when he give examples of some of the "good ones" he mentions Brent Russum.

Tampa Griz, hilariously, wants to pretend this didn't happen and is saying Hauck is a great for pointing out Russum.

Despite all this being well documented, Hauck brings Russum to UM, then points him out as one the "good" transfers that he's brought in.
I don't care who you are, that's just a weird statement to make even if he does mean just since Russum got to Missoula.

Why would Hauck mention Russum when trying to highlight his 'good' transfers? There are other transfers, past or present, he could've mentioned aren't there?

No it was just an example of how out of your league you are in this conversation. I know your team better than you do. Not only the inner goings-on, but the simple matter of spelling, and ultimatley pronouncing, their names. The only thing that would make me punt is my jealously over your ignorance. Russum has kept his nose clean since being at Montana but to me he still has character issues. You can't disregard the actions he took at ASU and act like they didn't happen. I hope he learned from his mistakes and is trying to become a better person.

I think HAuCK was using anything at his disposal to try and make something positive out of a very negative season.

My playoff assessment, as I framed it, was and still is accurate. The games on the final Saturday didn't break the way I thought they would and I never said that even if they all did break the way I said they would, that MSU would get in. I just said there was a chance.

His little jellyfinger trick is pretty mild compared to an adult who conspires with a friend to video tape a drunk girl conducting sexual acts. Not just any drunk girl, but Russum's girlfriend.
