UM could use some MSU accountants to count seats

I ushered for the Griz basketball teams home game against MT Tech. last night. One of the Women I ushered with worked the last two Griz football play-off games. She is a big Griz fan but was very frustrated with Griz Athletic Dept, it seems they double booked some seats for the two playoff games, and she had to broker the solution for people caught in this predicament.
Now I Give the Griz Credit for being able to sell out 23,000 odd seat for a play-off game and then some. Give them credit that is a lot of seats and the Cat's would love to come close to that, but it does nothing for fan loyalty to know you are going to have to share your 24" of bench seats with someone! My self if I was caught in that situation I certainly hope my seat mate is a lot closer to the Selma Heyak body type than the Michael Moore.
A suggestion, though, the problem might have happened because UM realize so heavily on UM accounting grads. Maybe, MSU could send down a handful of MSU grads to help them out!

Like I said we at MSU would would kill to sell out our stadium at 90 % let alone 110%!
Not to mention two playoff games!

Seriously, any help you could give that ticket office is much appreciated - it is almost as if they are trying to sabotage the Griz through incompetence.
mslacat if I say nice things about the cats will you let me slip down to the unused floor seats with my GA ticket?

I can be pretty liberal in verifying seats with tickets, when there are nights like last night. I do not know what the "officail" attendence was but if there were 1,500 in the crowd I would be very surprised. Now during Bobcat Griz you better damn well get to your seats before the opening tip off, there are those of us who wish watch a game.

Official attendance was reported at 2,497 according to the box score. I was actually quite surprised at that figure when I saw it, didn't think the Griz got that all year last year aside from Cat/Griz.

I am not sure how many years I have been Ushering, but I bet it has been well over 12 years and that has been the fewest people in the crowd I can remember.

I think the Bobcat Volleyball team routinely drew more than the Griz did last night in BBall.
Just an observation...

I think the cat VB out draws the cat BB also. Heck, cat VB would give the cat men a run for the money in a BB game.

...perhaps this needs to move to what it would take to improve the gameday atmosphere, but other than the kids play area the best part about the game week for them was going to volleyball matches---especially for my five year old son; he stated rather matter of factly that the way you can tell the difference between the Bobcat girls and the Grizzly girls was the "...Grizzlies suck and they're bigger..." He got that from my wife's side of the family.

Hey, that was mean...closer to true than I would like...but still that was mean.

Thanks for a good laugh Cat Grad, I seem to remember my wife making a similar comment when we attended the Cat/Griz volleyball match, pretty sure she phrased it differently though.

Pretty sure that includes season tickets even if they are not used (and anybody with good season tickets was probably on their way to Chattanooga last night).
As far as official attendance, though, I'm not sure there is a real Cat advantage here:
Average Attendance
2004 2003
Montana 3,605 4,491
MSU 3,644 4,293
Looks pretty even. Sad, but even.

Attendence at least for the Griz is tickets issued, not butts in seat. So all season tickets are inclued in the total.

nice attempt at a smack jaguar - looks very bad for both teams...but then again ant basketball season kind of a letdown after football no matter how each team does??

attempt? attempt? As Kmax said that hurts, really really hurts.
