What I got out of that article is that these guys like to perform for the crowds, like they have in HS, so maybe when they get here they'll re-energize because of the attention MSU-UM generate. I don't think FCS football is as popular as HS and FBS football down there, which may explain why SHSU, TSU and SFA are good, but not great. ????
You have to look at what they have for competition. In TX you have several big FBS schools and 2 pro teams. In MT MSU/UM football are at the top of the sports pyramide(sp). The Cat/griz game is the biggest sporting event in the state (
except for the state wrestling tournament
)
I think this has already been discussed -- the State Cornholing tourney usually is the second largest event

Prediction: Half of the TX recruits will be fallbacks.

They were here on the harshest day of winter this year. It was -10 and a ton of snow. I think you can put CB's BS to rest.

What and all of our California players went running back to Cali? Please.

My guess this is sour grapes because we didn't offer a certain player a "guaranteed spot" on the team. I want to give each of these kids a chance and I would love to point back to this post in 5 years and show you 10 kids from Texas capping a great senior season and preparing to graduate in a few short months.

No sour grapes.
Two days in bad weather does not a winter make. It will get to them quickly. Texans are not snowboarders, nor are they fisherman for weenie cold fish.
Playing at 8000+ feet will put them out for the next 2-3 games.
Let's stick with the facts: you had the chance to get a California player with DNA running through his body that created your institution. He is an all-state player in a state easily as competitive as Texas or Florida. He can play at 8000+ feet and run a stack for a complete fourth quarter to secure a victory. He has a 5s hangtime on punts with a healing avulsion fracture of his plant foot. And, yes, he has been stuck in blizzards for days at a time - 50 miles above Los Angeles.
Hey, I just thought it would make great press to have the ultimate native son at "your" institution, but I guess you like the fact that you brought in a bunch of players from Texas who no one can find information on. Status quo. 6-5.

Carlito all your information is just speculation. You have no idea about any of these kids. Your already turning them into people that cant play. How bout we wait and reserve judgement for the next couple years to see what they can do. And stop making assumptions. Also just because you think a player is amazing has no effect on coach ash or his coaches. They probably looked at the kid and found someone better or decided to fill other needs. and 6-5 was a decent record for just a few months of coaching to get the kids ready.

I was really enjoying your posts up until recently. I thought you were a pretty level-headed guy who liked to chatter with a bunch of Montanans. But you're really starting to sound like a dick.
You are not the first, nor will you be the last, person who comes on here and pimps their kid and then lashes out when the coaches decide that other recruits have higher value. I understand the frustration of that sort of thing all too well, but venting at us will do you no good. In fact, it just makes you look bad.
I hope your son walks on at MSU because he wants to be at MSU and wants to get an MSU degree. If his only reason to go to MSU is to play football, and he wasn't recruited for that purpose, he probably shouldn't go there. But football isn't all that important in the grander scheme of things.
It's unfortunate that you feel as though MSU owes your family something for having once had something to do with Montana, but unless you have a wing of the school named after you for having donated a lot of money, that sort of thing probably carries very little weight.
And it's particularly bad form to essentially start cheering against MSU the moment you apparently realize that your son isn't going to receive preferential treatment for being a Californian who is related to somebody whose ancestors were from Montana.

I would have him walk on and if he is indeed the real deal he will definately be rewarded with a scholarship by Ash and his staff his next year. MSU has been very good at rewarding players that come in and work and do well on the field.

I am level headed, and you are not Montanans.
You are right, give preferential treatment to boot wearers without credentials, and no ties, ancient or present. They're from Texas. They will probably beat Appalachian State all by themselves.
The real issue is that Ash and staff probably got the information a bit late, and their hands were probably already tied with offers they wish they could now take back. Go look at the footage on You Tube. There is nothing they didn't like nor was there any player more capable. You are crying about losing players to Colorado School of Mines for God's sake. We walked away from a Mountain West school last summer (in the most temperate climate in the US). We were communicating with UDub yesterday. This isn't about being left out, it is about playing in the school you own. The place you truly belong.
Furthermore, I will never root against Montana State, Montana, Western Montana, Montana Tech, etc., since it was the foresightedness of my own essence that created you all (plus the forty hour work week for miners, and even federal law that was very nearly plagiarized from the original constitution). My name is on every wing of each of these schools.

You are clearly not level-headed in the slightest if you think we are whining about "losing" a recruit to the Colorado School of Mines. We obviously didn't offer him enough for him to leave Colorado and come up here.

So let me get this straight.
You created Montana, and anyone living here is just lucky you let us?
You built MSU from the ground up. Congrats, you are doing well for your age.
This guy has the worst case of sour grapes I've seen yet, beats that guy who was trumping that QB from a few years ago, I forget his name.

Wow! Very level headed for sure. First off...who are not Montanans. I wouldn't be throwing that claim around as many people here are from multi-generational Montana families and still take a lot of pride in being from this state.
No whining about losing a player there, pointing out that a recruit went there after we didn't make an offer to that person.
A school you own? I wasn't aware anyone "owned" the Montana University System. I mean as a tax payer I could stretch and say I am a shareholder, but would never claim to own a school.
Finally....WOW! Is your name Montana or do you own a toilet company that provides urinals for each university?
