Look, I know it's a little thing, but it's a little thing that drives me crazy. They've been a part of our conference long enough now that we should have their name correct:

It's UNC, not NCU. I see it wrong on this board at least half the time.

Just as an FYI, I would be willing to bet that well over half of the people here that do use NCU instead of UNC know full well what the real abbreviation is and refuse to use it due to tarnishing the name of some powder blue wearing school out East.

You've actually got it backwards ... it's the UMS Spartans ... for the reasons noted above.

God help me but I am gonna have to agree with the Griz fan on this one.

Edit to add that I'm just wondering if I have to give up my mod priveledges considering my post is likely what forced the split here.

Edit again to respond directly to GoBears. When you find that near cultish group of fans that are in no way directly connected to Michigan State as you do with Carolina BBall fans around the country, then your analogy will work, till then it's not even close. Hey, I'm not a Heels fan at all, I was just stating a known reason why many stopped referring to Northern Colorado as UNC around here.

So let me get this straight - a griz fan is going to tell us Bobcat fans that it's not politically correct for any of us to refer to Northern Colorado as NCU, when at the same time, the majority of griz fans come onto this board and refer to the Bobcats as "kitties?" And we're supposed to listen to your rhetoric?
